They were supposed to come out for my central air leak test covered by my 2-10 warranty. Stacy called me 15 min prior to their scheduled time and told me they were not coming because the tech had a little belly ache (her words). She was rushing me because I was in my back yard and did not have my calendar on me instantly to reschedule. She wanted them to come the very next morning, but I cannot change my schedule that fast...and I did rearrange my schedule already for todays appt. This lady has no patience for anyone to look at their schedule when they cancel on you last minute. She said they were going to cancel and have a different company come out since she thought I was rude in not moving fast enough for her. Once again, I was in my back yard and had to walk back into the house to even look at my schedule. I asked her if she could ask a tech if I would need to move everything in my garage again or if it wasn't necessary because I do not know how they do a leak test, and she said I was rude for asking that. I asked to speak to her manager and she put me through to a generic voicemail and cancelled my service call. Stacy needs some training.

My mother, a senior citizen, had pipes that froze and burst with the recent extreme cold. Albert's could not come out for a week after she called, which I understood as many people had the same issue given the weather. They came out and gave an estimate of $1800 total. They took some pictures for her of the damage to help her make an insurance claim, as she herself could not get to the areas with damage to take photos and needed photos for the claim. They could not complete all of the work on that date, but surely called me to pay the bill for work that day of just under $1400, and left without getting the water running on that day. They were able to come back the following Tuesday, but the grand total was $500 more than estimated, and they did not call me to collect payment this time, issued an invoice, but told her they would not release the photos they had taken for her the previous Friday to give to her for the insurance claim until the balance was paid. I called to pay the balance, asked if it was true that they were withholding the photos from her, and they said yes, the manager decided to approach it that way until the balance was paid, though I had paid $1400 with no issue just days before. I told them it was wrong to withhold the photos from a senior who has now been without water for more than 2 weeks and simply needs to make an insurance claim. They said, "we are not a photo company, we are a plumbing company". If they did not want to take photos of an area a senior citizen could not access themself, they should not have agreed to do so, and then withheld them from her. It wasn't a favor, they were paid just under $2300. If anything was a favor initially, it was offering to take the photos for a senior to help her out, but they then used it against her to try to force quick payment. It felt like coercion. They have now sent her the photos she needed, but they sounded very rude, flippant, and predatory upon senior citizens in this case.

On multiple occasions I have received unsolicited SMS text messages to my personal phone from Albert Services, notifying me of their HVAC services. I have never had any business with this company, I have never requested information about HVAC services, or contacted this company in any way. In the past year, I have received multiple messages advertising "deals" on HVAC "services"...again, unsolicited. I will note that I am on the FTC's National Do Not Call Registry. When I first received SMS communications from this company, efforts were made to make them stop, and they were informed that I was to not be contacted. The contact continues. I spoke with an individual who handles "Marketing" for Albert Services, who was misinformed as to the legality of this practice. SPAM SMS MESSAGES HAVE BEEN ILLEGAL SINCE 2004. READ THE TELEPHONE CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT. I will be consulting with my attorney in reference to a civil suit against these ignorant hucksters and will implore all by word of mouth to avoid any and all "Services" from any company who utilizes unethical or illegal means of "marketing". To resolve this issue, the practice of spam SMS messaging from this company needs to cease. Any further contact from Albert Services will result in an invoice from me, for my time, consultation, and resources. By contacting me, Albert Services agrees to these conditions.

Started sending unsolicited text messages to me on Friday, February 11, 2022 which stated, "you've agreed to receive messages from Albert Services" (1403) I NEVER AGREED NOR HAVE I USED THIS BUSINESS, I am on the FDC list. if I ever need HVAC services in the future I will not use this company. Find another way to market rather than sending unsolicited text messages. I have a feeling this is because I refinanced my mortgage a few months ago and I am getting slammed with contacts. I am reporting this on BBB.

See following link to a video explaining how they messed up my tankless water heater installation.

      Albert Services Response

      01/13/2022

There is a lot more to this job then the homeowner put into his video. This job and complaint is over several years and in short the issue should be with the builder of their home and not with us. They has chosen to complain and degrade us, since we are a lot smaller company then the builder of their home. We gave them 2 options on 1/28/2020 to resolve the issue. One was at no cost to them and the other was a cost to fix what the builder did wrong. And here we are a year later. I am sorry that they are upset, but we have gone way out of our way to resolve and they never made a decision.

      Customer Response

      01/13/2022

I certainly did make a decision: To never do business with your company again, and to warn as many customers as possible why they should not either.

You completely miss the point of the video. Yes, the original defect was the fault of the homebuilder. But I have gotten independent verification that the most basic due diligence on your part would have detected it. As you admitted yourself in your last email, this thing should have never been installed in the first place. That you attempted to BS your way out of it instead of taking responsibility is why I label you as unethical as well as incompetent.

Which brings us to the final point. My explanation of the situation was very factual and complete. It is shameful that you feel that being held to account for your behavior amounts to degradation. As I say in the video, this kind of denial and deflection is what people can expect from doing business with your company.

      Customer Response

      01/14/2022

BBB has redacted the link to my video so I will summarize here. Albert sold me a $4000 tankless water heater which had intermittent problems cutting out suddenly. After years of tap dancing and denial, they finally admitted in writing that this should not have been installed in the first place because my home builder installed an inadequate gas line too small to support both a furnace and a tankless water heater (these things draw a huge amount of gas to heat the water in real time). I have since gotten independent verification from a commercial grade HVAC provider that checking for adequate gas supply and venting is one of the most important things the manufacturer covers in training installers. From this I have concluded that Albert went cheap on training and supervising their people. Improperly installed HVAC is a serious safety issue so once you catch a provider in this kind of breach of integrity it is impossible to trust them to try and resolve it. That is why I refused their offered solutions.

Had to mark a star to start a review. I have been getting multiple Text messages from Albert HVAC Services. Advertising their company. I do not own a house; I rent a senior apt. I do not pay for repairs. I am NOT typing STOP to quit receiving messages. Just another Scam to know it is a real phone number. And you will put in a list; and sell it to make money. STOP unsolicited text messages. I have turned you in to VERIZON SPAM.

      Albert Services Response

      07/09/2021

We are sorry to hear you're displeased with receiving our text message - our goal is not to disturb anyone or disrupt your day. We use these text messages to serve many purposes: keeping our communities informed about general home knowledge, potential issues, and equipment recalls, as well as any new services or deals we're offering. We understand your concerns about scams and companies selling your information, but this is certainly not our objective. Our goal is not to confirm that your phone number is real, and is not to sell your information to anyone. We are a legitimate home service company in Dayton, OH, and we're simply spreading the word about our service and trying to create relationships with new customers. We understand that you're frustrated, and we're sorry to hear our business is not compatible with your situation. It is important to us that you understand in this case, replying 'STOP' will only remove you from our list, and your information will not be used or shared in any way. We hope you're doing well. Have a great day.

I wonder how you even got my phone number in the first place then.
