On (11/11/21) the 2015 Tahoe came to us with issues of shuddering. We diagnosed this as an internal transmission problem. We then contacted the customer and got permission to perform a transmission overhaul on his 2015 Tahoe. On (6/27/22) the vehicle came back to us with a complaint of not going past 3500rpm/slams hard/ and at 75-80 will not go past 4500rpm. We spent 3 days with the vehicle evaluating for the customers concerns and never experienced anything abnormal. The computer scan did not show and diagnostic trouble codes or any abnormalities in the transmission parameters. During this visit we went above and beyond and even dropped the transmission pan to see if there was and signs or evidence of issues. The pan and fluid checked clean with no abnormal contamination.

These are the only two times the vehicle has been in our shop. The customer did in fact call back some time after the second visit (I can't remember exactly when) with a complaint concerning his transmission. We advised him we'd be glad to look at it again, it was just a matter of him dropping the vehicle off for us to spend some time with it and we never heard anything back until this complaint.

If there is an issue. We ask that you please bring the vehicle back so we can check it. We are always here to help!!

When the constituent took her vehicle to Jim and Sons Transmission Specialists because her transmission was slipping. Constituent was contacted by the manager, *****, and was told the transmission needs to be replaced and it would be up to $****. Constituent was then contacted again a few days later and was told the new estimate would be $******* but the car would run for several more years if she made these repairs. Constituent requested a loan from her credit Union CSE credit union. Constituent paid the supplier ******* on 6/30/2021 and had to have the vehicle towed to a different repair shop because the supplier could not get the car to run. The other mechanic was able to get the vehicle running. Constituent was driving the vehicle a week later and began having issues again. Constituent took it back to her mechanic which explained she needed to take the vehicle to a welder. Welder explained the car was rusted and unsafe to drive and the transmission should not have been placed in the vehicle and the supplier misled her when they stated the car would run for several more years.

********* vehicle came to us 5/27/21. It was determined that her vehicle needed a transmission rebuild and she was quoted $*********+tax for this rebuild. The total cost for the transmission rebuild would fall within that range and depended on the amount of parts it took to restore the trans back to new condition. After torn apart to assess the damage. She was then called (6/1/21) to get authorization for the rebuild. Our rebuild cost came to $******* before tax. In addition to the rebuild it was observed that her transmission oil cooler lines were in poor condition and needed replaced also. This added an additional cost of $***. Tax on the total work done was $******. The complete bill totaled $*******. She authorized the repairs.

The repair work was completed on 6/3/21. The vehicle had sat at our shop until 6/30/21 when she finally came to get car. When she did, the vehicle experienced issues starting. We investigated and found it was a wiring issue caused from a previous shop that had done work to her vehicle just before it came to us. She had it towed back there and they fixed the work they had previously done.

Fast forward to the later part of September ******* called our shop saying one the front wheels about fell off. It was taken to a weld shop and was determined that the upper suspension control arm needed welded. She declined repairs and sold the vehicle to the weld shop. She had stated to us that the weld shop said the vehicle wasn't worth the transmission repairs performed.

*****, our store manager called the weld shop to see if they truly said the car wasn't worth putting the rebuilt transmission in it and they declined making that statement. They simply said  ******* didn't want to pay to fix the vehicle and she wanted to scrap the car.

******* claims these event happened a week or two after we worked on her vehicle. However we never heard anything about it until late September when she called asking for a refund.

******* never gave us a chance to help her. By the time she called us in late September to request a refund, the car was sold.

The incident with the control arm problem found by the weld shop had nothing to do with the transmission work we performed.

We have been in business for 63 years now. This is due to our strong moral and ethics of dealing with people and helping them make good decisions on repairs. We would never recommend spending big dollars on a transmission repair if the vehicle was not worthy or unsafe. If  *******  had chosen to fix the control arm. She could still be driving this vehicle. The transmission was rebuilt and working great. Her engine was running great.

I am rejecting this response because:  What the manager said is not true.  I had to have the car towed from Jims and Sons transmission, after I paid the ******** with my AAA auto club, to

my repair shop Hupp's Auto shop *** ******* ** ** ********** *** ***** before I could even drive my car after paying for the repair.  Blood's welding said he could repair the control arm,

for $****** and repair the brake fluid line. He also stated that it would only be for a short period of time, because the car was all rusted out underneath. I asked Blood's if after he repaired the

control arm would he put his Mon, His Wife, Or his daughter in the car to drive the car. Blood's replied that he would not put anyone in the car to drive as it is not safe.  There was also a weild on the

car at the front of the underneath of the car.  I had a hard time speaking wiht ***** at the transmission shop he would avoid my calls and not return my calls. I called the Jim and Sons

transmission shop in Akron, stating that if he did not call me, I was going to have channel 19 news get involed, as I have been trying to resolve this problem. ***** called me shortly afterwards.

He was not willing to help me, stating that he knew I was desperate. Now I am stuck paying for a loan to my CSE bank and I do not have the car.  It was not safe to drive. ***** stated that the

car was worth putting the money into the car, and it should last me 2 years or so.  i would not be complaining if the car was running and I had it to drive.  When the control arm broke, I was doing 70

miles an hour going down route 77, when the arm broke, I also lost my powering steering at the same time along with no Brakes. I trusted Wayne and Jim and Sons transmission to fix the car.

With the condition of the car underneath, all rusted out, "which I was unaware" *****, Jim and Sons transmission should have never put a transmission in my car. I should of never gave Jims and Sons

transmission my check from CSE and had to have my car towed out of their shop to be fixed. The shop couldn't even get my car to start! I should of paid the bill and got in my car at the shop and drove

      away.

Daylene had her car at another repair shop for a fuel pump replacement just before it came to our shop. The reason it was towed out of our shop after the work we completed was a starting issue related to the work the previous shop did. She got her vehicle back to them and they found the issue and fixed it for her. The repair shop before us never said anything about her car being unsafe to drive being they performed repairs to her car and then she came to us. We strongly felt the vehicle was worth the transmission rebuild. Especially after she invested into the car prior to coming to us.

The situation with the control arm failing was very unfortunate. However, its not related to anything Jim and Sons did, nor the prior shop before us. This is a 2003 GMC Envoy. Parts like this can fail and is out of our control.

Daylenes car came to us for a transmission rebuild. She authorized the repair. We completed the transmission rebuild which fixed the problem she came in for. We warrantied the transmission rebuild. The problem here is not the transmission.

If the problem was with the transmission we would be standing behind our work and warranty.

I am rejecting this response because:  I drove my car into Jims & Sons transmission. Even tho there was a problem with the transmission.  That being said their was no problem with the

fuel pump, also my transmission fluid was full in the car when I drove the car to them.  They should of not put the transmission into the car because it was all rusted out underneath of

the car. They should of said the car is all rusted out underneath the car, and we should not put a transmission into the car in good faith. But they didn't. They put it in any way.

Also, Wayne at first said maybe the car would cost 15, 16, 17, maybe 18 hundred dollars to fix, it wasn't until the following week that Wayne had call me and told me that if he didn't

fix the lines in the car it would not be worth fixing because all of the fluid would leak out of the car and it wouldn't be worth fixing unless those repairs were made also.

and that the repair would be $2,530.25. and that the car would last me another 2 years. Also Hupp's Auto service my garage is also a member with the BBB.

and I have a loan payment and don't have the car to drive.  The car was rusted out, and they should of never put the transmission into the car.

doesn't that sound funny? That I paid the bill and had to have my car off of their lot, before I could drive it?  and I drove the car into the transmission shop?

Also I never refused to have the car wielded at Blood's untio he told me the car is unsafe to drive, even if I had the arm wielded. It wasn't the money, it was the fact that the

car was all rusted out underneath and it would not be safe to drive even if I had the arm wielded. they gave me a large range of payment to fix the car and told me it was worth

fixing. Wayne is not telling the truth about what happened with the car, for both Blood's and for Hupp's auto service. also the car was there so long because he couldn't get the

car started, so how could he know that everything was ok when he couldn't start the car to insure everything was ok?  Also he didn't even offer to help with the bill to repair the car at

Hupp's garage? and in his first response he said it was electrical, now he says it was a fuel pump? I am not getting this. Wayne would not return my calls, he is putting the blame on me

when all along he should of not put the transmission into the car.
