They will lie and add additional payments to your account. Never again will I be guilty of shopping with them. I will warn everyone of their ability to rip customers off.Review from Autumn R

Ever since Dell switched over to this bank as a lender, my credit score has completely tanked. (Due to a late payment that was caused by the switch) The interest they charge every month results in my balance staying the same every month. It’s like I’m not even paying. DO NOT USE THIS BANKReview from Christina M

I signed up for a card a few weeks ago. I never got the card. When I got my first bill, I couldn't pay it because I didn't have the card number (I thought). I called and wrestled with the automated system. I have a paralyzed vocal cord so can't use the voice commands reliably. When I finally got a person, he told me the number was at the bottom of the page. What kind of stupid sense does it make to "secure" the card number in the account number box but then print it out in full at the bottom of the same page?? So I go online to pay my bill. It won't save my bank info. I call back and am told I need to use the Chrome browser. We don't use Chrome; we use a secure browser that works fine with all our other accounts, and we are not going back to Chrome now for ANYbody. So I decide to go back to the phone automated assistant. I can't type the cc number in fast enough and it sends me again to a representative. And again, she refuses to help me unless I pay a $9.00 fee and sends me back to the phone system. It took me a solid half hour to pay my bill and close my account. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. No matter my problem, they still refused to do any work on it themselves without an exhorbitant fee. Never again Comenity. I will remember you, and Bread Financial, forever.Review from Yesenia D

I owned a Petco Mastercard with Comenity for about 7 years. I was recently charged with a $200 transaction that I did not authorize. I mailed in paperwork twice proving that I did not authorize a $200 transaction. They insist on trying to make me pay a debt that I did not take on. This transaction is fishy all around since it does not show the name of who charged my card with $200 as transactions normally include. I closed this credit card and will make sure to never deal with Comenity again.Review from MaryAnn R

I have a Land's End credit card with Comenity. I had a payment due on January 18. I sent the payment for the full amount of $113.00 by Bill Pay, Bank of America, for delivery by January 17. Comenity claims the payment was received on January 22. I do not believe that it was three business days late. I have used Bill Pay for several accounts for several years. My payments were never late. I have not used this credit card since January 17. I sent two emails to Comenity. I did not receive the courtesy of a reply.Review from Dmitry I

My experience with Comenity Bank has been a total disaster. After years with DELL's credit line, the transition to Comenity was an absolute nightmare. Not only did I receive no notifications about the change, but I also never received login credentials to manage my account. When I attempted to seek help from their customer support, it was a complete joke – endless wait times, clueless representatives, and zero resolution. As a result, I ended up with a late payment on my credit report, all because of Comenity Bank's incompetence and lack of regard for their customers. Avoid them at all costs if you value your financial stability and sanity.Review from Vicky K

I have an Avenue store credit card. I paid the balance due in total. The following month I get a bill for 2.00. Yes I know it's only 2.00, but I paid in full. How then does a company say you still owe interest after the fact. This seems shady to me. I called and they hung up on me. First I was sent to India. Then America who then hung up on me because I didn't agree with the fee. I've never in 67 years paid a bill off then get a bill for more money owed. ***** ******Review from Megan C

I have been trying since October to close my account. A timeline: Oct 2023 paid off balance and asked account to be closed Nov 2023 account still open, called again and was hung up on 2x before reaching someone who stated account could not be closed due to $1.05 insurance and interest charge on a $0 balance account that should have been closed the month prior. I asked to be escalated, I was told I would receive a refund on the fraudulent charge and the account would be closed. I also asked to make a formal complaint and was told someone would call me. Nobody called. Dec and Jan I continue to recover account statements on an active account with $0 balance. I call again and am told the account is closed. I ask for verification and am told it will be emailed. I never received verification. Feb I receive a $0 account statement. I call. I am told it is closed and will be sent a verification letter via email. I am not sent one. March I post the whole issue on social media, Google, anywhere with reviews. I am contracted and FINALLY get a call from someone I think is doing something on 3/19. She says the account could not be closed because of a 5 cent credit on the account. She states the amount will be transferred to my bank. She states she is closing the account. She states a verification letter will be emailed in 24 - 48 hours. She provides a return contact number. I never received the letter. The extension does not work when I call and I am disconnected without another option to speak to someone. It is 3/25/24 and I am going to be filing a complaint with Better Business Bureau and the state consumer protection agency. I suggest all others experiencing similar do the same. I will be posting this on all social media and reviews I have access to.Review from Latanya E

Comenity Bank, retailers of Victoria Secret and New York and Company Credit Cards. As an American of Color, both of my accounts were closed for non usage. Is this allowed? I’m trying to improve my credit rating and to have these accounts closed without my knowledge and I go to the store to use the card and my account is closed. This is embarrassing and verifies me as an unimportant bottom of the barrel class citizen due to my skin color. This action in my opinion is America’s way to keep Black Americans at the bottom and who cares?Review from Drew V.

DO NOT USE these fraudsters. PREDATORY business practices. I purchased a $15,000 dollar ring from Jareds. Could have paid cash for the entire purchase but paid $5,000 in the store and did the other $10,000 with their credit company only to help build my credit score. I have been making $500 payments EVERY month and It is now 18 months & 13 days later and they charged me $3,486.89 on a $1500 balance and would not remove the charge because I was 13 days past 18 months. I was informed that there was a "red notification" for the last 3 months on my statement. I went PAPERLESS because they push you to. If you dont open the statement on the website you dont see a stupid red notification. I logged into my account faithfully every month and made my payments and there is NOT a red notification on the website. They are doing "just enough" to keep above the law. but they really want is for you to not open your statement. I would've understood being charged an interest rate on the unpaid balance but not 26% on the original charge. This is predatory business practices. I will NEVER buy another thing from Jareds or any of the other 20 jewelry stores owned by the same company.
