I was searching for a reasonably priced used car that could get me through the winter (or maybe 2 winters). I planned to pay the car off within 6 months and start saving for a new vehicle. The goal was to trade it in and purchase a 2021/2022 Honda CRV. I've been looking at the CRV for a couple of years and decided to plan ahead for the purchase. I would save a substantial amount of money as a down payment for my new vehicle and make the purchase when I felt I had enough for a down payment so I could keep the monthly payments low. Foundation Honda had a 2010 Honda Civic for $9,000+ with a little over 73,000 miles on it. The asking price was a couple of thousand over the Blue Book price but I thought it was reasonable and the car was in really good condition. I came into the establishment with $3,000 in earnest, expecting to have a note that reflected my down payment + finance change. I met with a salesman to discuss the purchase. I test drove the car and decided to purchase it. He told me if I purchased the car, Foundation Honda offered free oil changes, car washes and some other services. It was presented to me as what sounded like a service for customers, not a sales pitch for a product Foundation was offering for a fee. I agreed that it would be nice to get free oil changes, etc. At no time during our time together were any charges for the service discussed with me nor was anything listing fees for the service shared with me! The following day I returned to the dealership. Again, there was no discussion of cost for what had been mentioned to me the day before. I waited for what seem like an hour or more before the finance person showed up. Shortly after I arrived in his office, he got my electronic signature and proceeded to speed through (what turned out to be 23 pages of contract documents) in a little more than 15 minutes. His approach was to summarize in a sentence/phrase what the document was about. The warranty documents were included in the electronic documents. Then he would say "click this button." And I did. My $3000 was gobbled up in, what for me was, an absolutely devastating car buying experience. I have a 2010 used Honda Civic with 73,000 + miles and a Lifetime Warranty that I didn't ask for and would never have agreed to if it had been presented to me as an additional product and not a perk. Instead of a $6,000 + finance balance, the total cost (if I remain for the length of the loan) will be $15,413.40! I realize the responsibility assigned to my signature rests with me. I made the mistake of trusting salesmen who were interested in making money and not in meeting my needs as a valued customer. It's a difficult lesson to learn but I GOT IT! I'll be reading everything no matter how long it takes or how much of a hurry the salesperson is in. I won't be going back to Foundation nor will I recommend friends and family to do business with them.

The worse customer I have ever experienced in my life!! We offered 5 times to put down a deposit on a car because we were driving from out of state. The salesman (Evan D*****) promised us he pulled the keys and was holding the car for us. Several text messages from Evan assured us we had the vehicle locked in. We told Evan we were picking up our rental vehicle at 5 pm to drive down and pick up the car at 9am the next day. At 7:18 pm Evan texts is and said the car just sold, it's gone. WHAT THE HECK EVAN?! You could have called and told us BEFORE we paid to rent a car?? Unsat!! You don't have the courtesy to say hey, someone wants to buy it now, maybe offer payment in full now or don't rent a car. That would have been the decent thing to do. I hope it was worth it.
