      Complete SCAM of an insurance company. I'm diabetic and they keep denying my medications every 6 months to the point my triglycerides go do high they have to put me on a medication for that when I am denied my diabetes med... and then my A1C shoots ove 8 and my glucose over 300.... yet when I call and ask why they keep denying.... I'm told they don't have enough documentation of me being diabetic. Which they should, because I have been on diabetic meds for OVER 20 years and my blood work should be enough proof. Also, after being on an iv infusion drug foe 4 years after trying many many drugs that didn't work, they decided they're changing what drug I am to be put on. Not one doctor, rep, or anyone from their company calls me back, gives me a straight answer, it's always a run around, the reps are rude and give you whatever BS excuse they can get you off the phone. I am hoping my company gets away from Med Mutual. They're greedy, money hungry people who do NOT care about you health care, your care plan or treatment ! They should be held accountable for any diseases a person contracts while taking them off meds they need. I know my family will. Save your time, money, and frustrations... AND GO WITH A DIFFERENT INSURANCE COMPANY!!!

      Do not waste a single dollar on their supplemental accident insurance. They will find a reason to deny nearly every claim, often without providing any real explanation. Customer service is unhelpful and only offers vague, generic responses.
      I specifically requested a complete list of what qualifies as a covered event, and they flat-out refused to provide it. They offer no meaningful policy details up front — but they’re quick to take your money.
      Their marketing promises to “fill the gaps” your regular insurance doesn’t cover, supposedly helping when you haven’t met your deductible. That’s a joke. They do not provide the “protection” they claim, and in practice they’re no better than having nothing at all. Save your money and just stick with your regular insurance. Paying for this supplemental plan is pointless if every claim is going to be denied.

      See I’m not alone. You go on the website to make sure doctors are in network. Then you go and they deny it saying they aren’t. This has happened 3 times this year and those Doctors they claim are not in my network still show that they are on their website.
      Never been so frustrated with a company before. This is unacceptable and as bad as a scam. The time frustration and anger is ridiculous and they still don’t accept responsibility but they still want their money. I’m contacting the Ohio Insurance Board and VIA next Tried to give no stars but…

      Since January 01, 2025, I have had nothing but problems getting medications filled because of needing prior auth., I was approved in February for a medication and then they revoked the prior auth without any notice, I had to hear from my pharmacy that they will no longer cover the medication and this was approved till the end of 2025 and they took it back away. I have another prescription that my doctor has sent multiple time for prior auth and it still not being approved. I have absolutely had it with this company and hope for reasons that I am able to switch. I wonder how a medicare plan that is for seniors and disabled can actually deny any type of claim that a doctor has order for you deem it unnecessary for your healthcare, if it weren't necessary the doctor would not order it. I hate to imagine the people that have Medical Mutual that are seniors and don't understand the issues and are not able to take care of appeals or anything in the manner because they have no help from family or friends, so they go without the medical attention they need because some insurance company decides how they should live

      I've missed my medical prescription once again because of medical metals failure to approve a blood sugar medication. Its insane. We pay for full coverage yet some fod damn insurance company gets to dictate the timing of our medication release. Why gave insurance! So now I'm two days without my medicine. Run, do not select medical mutual, they are a corporation that doesn't are for customers healthy needs, only their profits

      As of 2025, patients now need a prior authorization for REMOVEDcosts $5-10 with REMOVEDcoupons, and after the prior authorization, there will STILL be a copay of a few dollars. Ask yourself if you're really willing to make multiple calls to your doctor's office and insurance companies for basic medications that cost under $10.
      It's outright EMBARRASSING to require prior authorizations for such basic medications, particularly ones that treat behavioral health problems. Companies like this make work more difficult for patients, doctors, office staff, and everyone involved in healthcare, all in the name of trying to save a couple pennies on the dollar. Embarrassing.

      You are better off with no insurance than Medical Mutual. Their customer service reps have no idea what they are talking about, they tell something is not covered when it clearly states it covered in the benefits guide. Then you submit a claim and sits limbo for months until you start putting pressure on them. Apparently under their "guidelines" an infection from wound is not covered. It took them 3 1/2 months to come up with a reason to deny the claim. Poor bussiness practice to the point I am going say this a scam, they take your money without providing anything.

      I unfortunately chose to go with Medical Mutual of Ohio this year. After reading these post and my first experience with them, I wish I had gone somewhere else. I will change companies as soon as it's possible.
      My Doctor ordered on MRI that was to be done ASAP, the hospital had it scheduled for the next day BUT NO, I have to wait on these people to approve it and I was told that could take 3-14 days to get approved or denied. Really!! In the meantime I get to live with horrible pain!!! My doctor needs this test to treat me appropriately! This is just insane! It's going to be a very long year, I'm afraid.

      I now have to take another day off of work just to get my Covid 19 vaccine and make an appointment with a Doctor office I am not familiar with nor have I ever attended. Please do not ask me to do any new paperwork. It is already costing a day of work and is it going me to free or am I going to get a surprise charge?????

      I have shirt and long term disability insurance and I called when I started having problems to check my coverage now they keep denying my long term disability coverage and I have no income. My doctor even are wondering why? The claim on their side if its preexisting. And I have had the insurance for a year. The Representative I speak to is also rude and has a nasty attitude and seems to be behaving out of vengeance because I do not settle for her denial and appealed her decision. She even made the remark I must be confused…, I am not confused I do not agree with her and I feel the it’s scamming people who has paid for your insurance for protection of their income incase life happens. If there were negative stars I would also rate them with a negative.
