I attempted to check in at the Roadway Inn, in Circleville, Ohio. I chose to book through Priceline, but pay once I got to the hotel in person. The first time I attempted to check in, I waited at the front desk for 30-45 min clearly seeing that they could see me on their security camera. So, I left figuring check in wasn’t until 3pm any way. I go back at close to 1:30pm. I finally get someone at the front desk again after waiting a considerable amount of time. The man working the desk slid my card through 2 different card readers a total of 4 times charging my card on the second machine he had swiped it on, twice a total of 143.93 in 2 separate charges, and then subsequently attempted to charge my card two additional times for $119.93 however by then my account has been drained, And he couldn’t get any more money out of my account. As he does this, not only successfully charging my card, but also attempting to continue to charge it my bank had notified me that two charges had been approved, two had been declined. I show the clerk where I can see that he charged me two charges that aren’t even the total he gave me, (which by the way included various fees he called “white privileged fees”,) all the transactions had the exact same name “roadway inn Circleville, Ohio” so I show him that I can clearly see he charged my card successfully, to which he tells me, in a very defensive, loud, aggressive way that it’s not HIS hotel that changed my card, and that my card had declined. I’m not super criminally smart, but the only thing that makes sense to me, is this guy is stealing money from customers. He got irate when I told him my bank told me that the charges cleared, he screamed at me that it wasn’t his hotel that charged it. I honestly believe this man has his own cc machine and is stealing. I will include a screenshot of the charges I’ve had to file a dispute over. I hope you do something before someone else gets robbed.
