On 4/7/2023 I had called Halpin Plumbing to response to an issue I was having at my Laundromat. They performed an initial inspection of my plumbing. After the inspection was done a jetting service was recommended. I agreed to the jetting service and an after hours service charge. When the plumbers arrived on site they began to perform the service. In the process of performing the service they got their equipment stuck in the drain lines. The service of jetting the lines was not executed. In order to remove the equipment and unclog my drain lines it was determined on Saturday 4/8/2023 that the path forward would be to remove the concrete flooring and remove the sections of pipe that were affected. There were two different options due to the nature of the work that was presented. I was told since the service was not performed on the Friday night that I would not be charged for that portion of work. It was agreed and signed off that order of work. The work was performed satisfactorily and paid upon completion of the work in a prompt manner. I received a text on 5/15/2023 saying that there was a balance of $250 that needed to be paid. I said that I was under the impression that all work that performed on 4/7/2023 would be on Halpin due to them not providing the service. I wish for them to remove the charge of $250 as that is what was agreed to and I didn't receive an updated invoice or my signature authorizing the charge of $250 to remain.Business response

The $250 charge is our emergency fee to come out, which we did. We spent 5 hours working on a Friday night and waived everything but the emergency fee since while we weren't able to fix the problem that night, we came out after hours and worked on the project and diagnosed a solution. The line was full of coins which is why drain cleaning didn't work and opening up the line became the only option. We spent countless hours over the weekend also communicating the next steps with the customer and felt the $250 was a very small amount to cover the after hour time put in. We also verify the charge before hand and the customer did know there was this fee to come out.
However, we would also prefer to work this out directly with our customer's instead of them going to a review source. He requested this would be waived after we explained this and our manager hadn't had the chance to respond prior to him reporting this to the BBB. While we feel this charge is not only valid, but very fair for the amount of time on a weekend invested we will waive the charge as our customer's satisfaction is the highest priority.
