I was actually looking US Acute Care Solutions up to see if they’re an actual real company or a scam and I found all these terrible BBB reviews of them, so I thought I’d add my own. Last year I went to the ER with a kidney stone. The stone passed while I was in the ER lobby but I waited until I was in the exam room and told the RN that I was ok because I didn’t want to be labeled as leaving Against Medical Advice and end up getting a bill like the one I got. Several months later, I got a bill from US Acute Care Solutions for $91, after I had already paid the hospital for what my insurance didn’t pay. I ignored the bill at first assuming it was a mistake; then I started getting harassing texts twice a week that eventually escalated into the inevitable collection threats. I contacted this company and tried to explain the situation and wanted to know specifically what the bill was for. At first they tried to insinuate that it was the triage services they were billing for, but USACS only bills for doctors, PAs, and nurse practitioners, and the person who did my triage was an RN, not a clinician. I work at the hospital where I went and I know all of the people who work in the ER. So the best answer I could get from the US acute care solutions customer service rep was one of the doctors down in the ER said I was ok to leave the hospital after I passed the kidney stone, so now I owe them $91, which is ridiculous. This is the kind of frivolous nonsense billing that insurance companies probably have to just write off all the time because they don’t have time to look too closely into it, but this kind of stuff should never be billed directly to a patient. I don’t think anyone should ever be billed $91 just for a doctor saying “yeah, he passed the stone, he can leave now”. I think a lot of companies that do frivolous medical billing like this operate on the “yeah they’ll pay it because it’s not worth fighting us over it” principle.US Acute Care Solutions Response

Similar to most of the previous complaints, my 97 year-old father, **** ****** (a WWII veteran), was billed for services provided by one of his attending physicians, Dr. ***** ******* during a hospitalization in August, 2023 at *********** ****** ******** ******* Center which US Acute Care is claiming were not covered by Medicare and/or **** ********** ******. These are the ONLY medical bills that my father has received in more than 15 years while residing in four states that were NOT covered by Medicare/**** ... either for a clinician (professional) fee or hospital (facility) fee. Also like several of the other complainants, I have been unable to talk with ANY patient services representatives on multiple occasions, even after holding for 30-60 minutes! On trying another suggested customer service number, I got an automated sales pitch for an alert necklace. Even though my bill is only $115 (likely a part of the scamming strategy), I will refuse to pay until I can discuss with someone and get a satisfactory answer. I would strongly caution ALL to assume that this outfit is a scam until proven otherwise.US Acute Care Solutions Response

It’s absolutely ridiculous to go to a hospital with insurance and have an emergency room copay ($500 for context) just to receive a “Dr bill” from acute care for $985. Bill my insurance!! I have it for a reason. Just because your “Dr” isn’t part of the hospital doesn’t mean your Dr shouldn’t take my insurance. Meanwhile when I’m trying to get this resolved answer your phones!! I’ve been on hold for 30 minutes trying to talk to someone. This seems like such a shady way to screw over individuals seeking medical care. Bill my insurance!!! Also I had met my out of pocket maximum!! So this $985 should be $0!!US Acute Care Solutions Response

I just got a bill for $985.00. I'm not sure what bill this is but I haven't been to a hospital that needed any type of acute care. I go to the hospital for my regular visits to do my regular labs ...but nothing major... So nice try in trying to bill me for something that's baseless and just lies. What kind of company is this and where exactly did I go to get this service? It shows facility 99284 where is that? I'm not paying this bill. This is such a scam.US Acute Care Solutions Response

When you go to the hospital for treatment, you may receive two bills: one from the hospital (facility or testing fee) and one from the clinicians who provided your care (professional fee). The professional fee is what you are billed for from USACS. The hospital's billing departments may not always know who contracts their clinicians. They keep billing me for services that I've paid in full at the time of visit. I contacted the emergency room and they tell me that yes I did pay but they can't do anything because it was sent out to acute care solutions. I've tried day after day to contact them and they are always closed or in training or just not responding at all. I understand one billing mistake but for this to happen twice it's obvious that weather any customer pays or not we are sure to be harassed with fictitious bills. It's not legal to arbitrarily bill patients. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME A BILLING MISTAKE HAPPENED IN OUR FAVOR! if it's so easy to accidentally bill a patient I would assume that patients would be getting sent accidental checks! What are my options I'm trying to buy my first home so I value my credit score and cannot have some terrible company scam me. WHAT CAN I DO, I CANT CONTACT ANYBODY AT ACUTE CARE!US Acute Care Solutions Response

I've been trying to get into 1 bill and it's says sign in is correct.. I try to sign into a new one and it says it's not correct. I stopped a monthly payment and been paying a lower amount and am getting past due notices. I talked to hospital and they told me to forget the second bill I got. The bill says a whole different insurance that I have. I called a lawyer and he said they have been in trouble before doing thisReview from Melissa J

Wish I could give zero stars. This company has been harassing us SO badly even though my sons’ hospital bill was paid for in full by his doctors office due to a terrible mistake on their part. Never in my life have I received two separate bills like they claim may happen and when you try to have an online chat with someone, their only available days and times are Wednesday-Friday from 9-4. That’s an awfully nice schedule to have. What a joke of a “company” Absolute scam!US Acute Care Solutions Response

This is not a real business. The bill was paid for "twice", once by the insurance company and once by me at the hospital in Michigan. They know I have ******* and lied. Probably best to lawyer up.US Acute Care Solutions Response
