I bought the car from this person on August 2 on August 4 the transmission light came on there was a huge clunking noise when you drove and the window fell down within two days I contacted the person he stated he would check the window and he would fix the struts after I brought it to him he told me all only the front struts were bad and the window he only fixed because he couldn’t get it back up because somebody else must’ve been doing with it and must’ve broke it but we had to open the window side door to be able to put the window back up since it was raining for three days then he said the check engine light was nothing we were just driving it too rough which we literally have to drive like grandma and grandpa.I got it back home drove it ridiculously slow like we were old people and the transmission light or engine light came back on it went into limp mode and the right side started making noise again in the front I then contacted three other mechanics and they said turbo is bad

****** ***** did purchase a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze from our dealership on August 2, 2021. The vehicle had 120,877 miles at that time.

The vehicle was sold 100% AS-IS.

****** contacted me by text message on August 3rd stating they had heard a noise in the right front, "it's only when you are going slow on the right side and if the road is smooth nothing but if it's not you hear and feel it" (per text message on 8-3-21)

I had driven the vehicle multiple times and heard no noises.  I offered to check it out for her because I do try to help our customers.

On August 4th ******s husband ***** contacted me. He had taken the vehicle to ***** ******* and had a quote to replace the front struts, rear shocks and tires. The estimate was for around $2,200.00

I offered on the spot for them to return the vehicle and I would give them a full refund. ***** wanted to keep the vehicle and as goodwill I offered to replace the front struts and rear shocks if they were bad. I ordered the new parts online.

On August 6th I received a text message that the window had a clunk and had quit going up.

On August 9th I got a picture text message that the "Check Engine" light had come on. The code associated with the light was for a turbo underboost issue. I advised them it was possible that the light could come on if they were driving the car hard because of the age and mileage. I offered to look at it when they brought it back to have the struts/shocks replaced.

The vehicle was brought back for the struts/shocks on August 11th. I did/do not believe the front struts were bad, but I went ahead and replaced them at that time at no charge to Mrs. *****. I was sure the rear shocks were not bad after inspecting them. I also sent the vehicle to an independent repair facility, ******* **** ********** in Bedford. They advised me that the rear shocks had been replaced not that long ago. I did not replace the rear shocks.

I removed the door panel and cardboard that was holding up the window, inspected the window regulator. It was not broken, it was exploded and busted up like someone had pushed or pried it down with a lot of force.  I offered to replace it for them fort $200.00, they declined. I could have just wedged the cardboard back in it and gave it back but I felt bad about doing that so replaced it at no charge for them.

At that time I also cleared the "Check Engine" light, advised them that there could be an issue with the turbocharger and if the light came back we could talk about possibly replacing it.

At this point I have done $963.54 in free front strut replacement, per ***** estimate. $200.00 In free window repair to the vehicle. I do not know how many calls and text messages I received from both Mr. and Mrs. *****,  A LOT. I also received a phone call from Mrs. ***** ex husband.

I tried to help these people and have gotten nothing but bad messages, bad reviews and now having to spend all this time responding to a Better Business Bureau complaint.

I have done everything I am going to do for Mr. and Mrs. ***** and wish them the best of luck.

      Best regards,

      James H*******, President
