There is a long crack in the windshield that was not there before I went to the car wash. It is on the right hand side top portion of the windshield.

******, I am sorry to hear about your vehicle. I do understand you are upset because you have a crack in your windshield and rightfully so. Unfortunately, this is not something we can cause in our car wash. The only way for a crack to form in a windshield is by the window being defective or an existing chip caused from road kick-up (such as a rock).
In many cases a small chip or defect can be there for days before it starts to spider or spread in your windshield. However, it is inevitable if a chip starts to crack or spider, it will continue. Nothing in the car wash can create a chip or a crack. Now with that being said, there is a chance that the hot water in the car wash caused the crack to spread more rapidly, which made you notice it when exiting. The reason being, when your cold vehicle in this winter weather hits our hot water it will expedite this cracking process due to expansion and contraction. Then the sun hits your clean vehicle and you noticed a crack. I hope this makes sense.
Regardless, we do appreciate you as a customer. My manager mentioned this incident had happened and he said you were very professional. That means a lot to me as a business owner. If you can, stop by The Car Wash or give us a call ************ and ask for ****. I am there most days. I will do my very best to help you out.
