We visited the restaurant to celebrate my daughter's 12 birthday. It was a party of 12. Our reservation was at 1930. One chef was great. He came out about 15 minutes prior to the second chef. The second chef serving the children did not say "hello", he did not speak, he did not say one word! He finished 20 minutes before the chef who came out before him. I approached management in regard to his lack of interaction, and said I was not paying 16% gratuity to this chef. The manager ignored me, looked past me, and told me this was the best chef they had. He has never had a complaint in his restaurant. That I need to pay and get out. Once my daughter's father entered the conversation he rudely referenced Jay-Z, told us we did not have the money to pay the bill, and just wanted a free meal. He tried to threaten us with calling the police. He called the police telling them we refused to pay the bill. I said "sir we are not refusing to pay the bill, we are refusing to pay gratuity to a chef who did not say one word." At this point he was beyond rude. "You people, get out." My daughter did not get the ice cream and sprinklers until we said something, by this point we did not want anything from their kitchen. When the police arrived they basically expressed that this is a frequent problem with this restaurant. If you are African American take your business where it is appreciated. When I explained to the manager that we are complaining because the birthday girl complained he said "who needs to be happy my worker, or your daughter?" " He said both need to be happy." "If he does not want to talk, his job is to cook the food he did that." You can not expect someone to tip 16% and not get a "hello, or Happy Birthday" The other chef was interactive, flipping food, talking, singing. I would HIGHLY recommend you go somewhere else! I would give no stars, but that is not an option.
