We hired J Bowers to perform repairs in our house and they never completed the work and although having received payment in full will not return to complete the work or return emails or phone messages.Initial Complaint

I hired J Bowers Construction to install new hardwood flooring. Bowers installed the subfloor. The floor has buckled, squeeks, bounces , and looks wavy. Bowers sent their expert to evaluate the problem. He said the subfloor was incorrectly installed with the wrong materials. He said the only way to repair this floor is to remove the hardwood and subfloor and start over . Numerous calls , e-mail, texts go unanswered. Bowers has a 5 year warranty-- the reason I chose them. Date project estimated 5/4/21, date project paid in full 6/29/21 as I was told job was completed. Total amount of project $4, ******. When the patio contractor came to remove deck to put in patio, I saw that my chimney indeed was not completed as water damage on boards visible. On 3/21/22 I spoke with a **** who sent out ****** on 3/28/22 who acknowledged the work was incomplete. (I have pictures to support the incomplete work but I do not know how to upload to you, I can text them if given a phone number.) ****** stated all he needed was a corner post to complete the work along with left over siding I had available. On 4/4/22 ****** stated he called 3 to 4 places and he could not find any corner posts. Yet when I called Alside on Moe *** in ***** they stated they did indeed have the corner post needed to finish the job. I cannot complete my patio without having this chimney issue resolved!!! I have called and text **** and have yet to hear from anyone. Please help me get this resolved. Thank you.Initial Complaint

I hired J Bowers to handle the insurance claim on my house. A tree hit my house in the spring of 2020. I sustained a great deal of damage from it. It took a long time for things to actually get worked on my house and I am still waiting to get the roof done (which I realize cannot happen until the weather warms up). However, today, I received a letter from a lawyer from their supplier stating that a mechanic's lien had been field on my property because J Bowers has not paid them. I am livid. First, off the lien was filed in December and I am just being told about it now. J Bowers owes their supplier $3,906.43 which is from the 1st day of October to October 13th. I do not understand why a lien is being filed on my property and why I wasn't given notice earlier about this in terms of payment needed etc. I would happily pay whatever I owe J Bowers but I do not owe their supplier anything. I called J Bowers today about this and they said they would call me back by the end of the day. They did not. I had to call again and was told to just leave a voicemail. This is not satisfactory. I want someone to call me and tell me what in the world is going on. I am not going to lose my home due to another J Bowers not doing what they were supposed to do.Business response

We have recieved documentation regarding complaint ID# 16484789 dated 1/19/22. I apologize for the slight delay in response as I had an issue being able to get logged into the system due to an change of roles at J Bowers.
Upon review of the stated claim, we have found that we had an internal oversight and have, in fact, misassigned payment to our materials supplier, Modern Builders. Funding that was earmarked for ** ********* job was incorrectly applied. This will be corrected in our next accounting cycle and payment for supplies provided for this job will be made to Modern Builders within the next seven (7) business day. We will request from Modern Builders that they release the lien placed and that they provide documentation of said release to us and to ** *******.
I will personally contact ** ******* today, January, 26, 2022, to advise of our receipt of this claim, and also of our intended action to remedy the situation.

Our toilet broke on 1/22/21 resulting in extensive water damage in our upstairs bathroom, 1st floor kitchen and our basement. In February of 2021, we consulted with JD Bowers regarding reconstruction of the damaged areas. Unfortunately, it would take more than the characters allowed to describe the last 8 months. We still have no bathroom, no kitchen. We paid $6000 so far and have had VERY minimal communication. We understand that times have been difficult for everyone and have been very understanding, but this is insane. We finally got someone to come out to "install our cabinets". They found a spot of drywall that needed replaced after removing our current cabinets and everything in our kitchen. Now 3 weeks later, I've heard from them once this week with a promise of getting us scheduled for completion (09/07/21 after I called) and then nothing after. I have 5 children and have had no running water in my kitchen for 3 weeks! Please help!Business response

The attached response should be sufficient to answer the complaint. We have spoke with the customer multiple times since the complaint was filed. We have also mailed a copy of the letter to her.Customer response
