My name is **************************, My Daughter ********* and ***** *********************** where getting Married September, 21, 2024 unfortunately the wedding has been called off. I am the father of the bride and the one who is paying for the catering hall Fox HollowWe gave deposit of $1000, then made payment 1st payment based on the contract on June, 31st 2024, the second, third and fourth payment I made ahead of schedule which I had no problems. I made 2 additional payments of $2700 each payments ahead of schedule and before the wedding was cancelled. We cancelled before December 1st and If Im not mistaken we have 5 day grace ****** to make payment. ***** the account rep wrote it down and asked to send them a certify letter which they requested in order to cancelled, I asked if I can bring it personally and they really suggested to send via mail if not I would have had brought it to them the same or the next day. I called to talk to the manager ******* and asked to at least refund me the 2 payments i made ahead of schedule and he said he had to talk to management, he said that if I would get any refund i would have to sign a waiver that they no longer owe me any money. I said if that is the case I wanted $8000 and they can keep the rest and his response was no. they wanted to give me some sort of refund but it seems it was less than the $5400 which is the 2 months I paid in advance. They say if they rebook the venue for same amount, I can get a refund minus administration fee which it's understandable. If I would have followed the schedule they would not have gotten the 2 payments I made ahead of time, which I made out of good faith. So I believe that they should refund me the $5400 i paid ahead of time and if the place does not get booked it's understandable to keep the previous down payments. But the $5400 they are not entitle too. Thats kind of stealing. They have a cancellation exception on their website I was told by ******* the Manager it's only if one of the parties passes away that's the only exception, that's a very strong exception.They want me to wait until after September 21,2024 to see if they rebook the venue if they dont I wont get any refund back, that is why I originally wanted the $5400 that I paid in advance of schedule, I think its only fair the money was not due to them. At this point if possible Im willing to take the $8000 and forget about the whole thing. Im including, referral letter, contract and payment schedule and payments made.The address shown here might be different but it's the same owners. Due to the ******19 pandemic my wedding was canceled August 2020. I also had family loss due to this. At that time there was a shut down and no venues were open I spoke with Chateau Briand and they said they would refund my money approximately nine to $10,000. I advise that due to this unexpected pandemic I will not be having a wedding. They promised me that someone would reach out to discuss this and now almost 2 years later they have ignored all my calls and all my emails. This has been a very disappointing frustrating time as not only did my wedding get canceled I lost my father due to Covid and just so much has been going on. Please help in this matter I would appreciate any assistance or guidanceInitial Complaint

My daughter was planning to get married on 8/22/21. Because of the pandemic, the wedding was canceled with no future date. We were paying for the reception at Westbury Manor and made payments totaling over $19,000. However, when I contacted Westbury manor in August of 2020, a year before the planned wedding date, for a refund, I was told that no refund can be issued but they will consider giving me 50% credit for a future event. I told them that I did not want credit but a refund of my payments. They never got back to me. I noticed on their site that they had an event on the day that I canceled, therefore they got paid twice for the use of the premises advertised as one event at a time. In 2019 I signed an agreement w Chateau Briand Westbury ** to have my amazing wedding on June 26, 2021. After losing 15 family members to covid-19 and numerous calls to ******** and an email to Jo ** at Scotto Brothers with an email to him as well, these people refuse to give me back my $8,500. Instead they tried to encourage me to have a wedding in June when Covid was still very heavy in **. Most companies were closed and everybody was uncertain about everything. None of us predicted this pandemic would come and change all of our lives and claim the lives of some of our love ones, we will never be the same again. I've been asking for my $8,500 for months now. I thought this was a classy place of business. I was wrong. I would encourage anyone thinking about having a wedding there....DON'T!!!! You will get ROBBED and treated poorly. All I want is my refund $8,500 as promised by ******** with out excuses. I'm trying to be nice but I believe this will go to court.
