I dropped my 2012 **** ******* on April 11, 2022 and was not able to get it back until June 30, 2022. The total bill was $4911.96. I paid $4510.00 on April 26, 2022 so they would start the work. April 26, 2022 first transmission ordered arrived in 2 weeks after April 11, 2022. Aamco said it was defective and had to return it? May 27, 2022 Second transmission ordered that Aamco had to return. I made calls May 02, 03, 05, 12, 13, 20, 25; I was not able to speak to anyone. June 07, 2022 they said my 4x4 shaft was bad and had 6 months and said they had a used one for $200.00, same price for a new one June 30, 2022 pick up my jeep. The windows were down. Something smelled like it died but couldn’t tell where it was coming from? I continued to smell something dead. It’s when I found all the leak damage the stains and an area where it looks like a mouse died inside the ceiling cover. They must have got my ****** interior wet somehow and tried to dry it out. June 02, 10, 13, 16, 17, 20, 21, 23, 24, 27, 28 were mostly unanswered phone calls when I was trying to check the status of my vehicle. On July 11, 2022test drive with Paul at Aamco because my transmission slips. I pointed out the l the stains and where the mouse died. Paul did a diagnostic on the test drive. I could feel the difference but he said the computer said everything looked right. They unhooked a break controller now my display panel shorts out the indicator lights keep going on and off and make it so the **** will not start. Today February 13, 2023 all of my warning lights are on I can’t turn my windshield wipers off? 56,000k on it, I do yearly maintenance. I have never had an issue with the jeep. A bad cigarette lighter and a power window. Now everything is wrong. No rental offer until 57 days in the shop for $30.00 a day. A comparable vehicle to my **** is $70.00.80 days total time my **** spent at Aamco Watertown, NY. 80x30=$2,400.00 / 80x70=$5,600.00. $10,000.00 bucks for a transmission repair!

Re: Complaint ID ******** Mr. ******** brought his 2012 **** ******* into our repair facility on April 11, 2022, with transmission issues, a cigarette lighter that was not working, and a noise over 40mph, and was planning on towing a trailer up to 4000lbs. Customer authorized a remanufactured unit to be installed in the vehicle, along with two front wheel bearings, six new spark plugs and one air filter, at a cost of $4911.97 after tax.  It is our practice to get a down payment before ordering a remanufactured unit, the customer on April 26, 2022, paid $4510.00 down.  Unit was ordered April 27, 2022, order#*******.  Unit was received and installed in the vehicle; unit had internal issues.  We called the company and started a warranty claim; Claim#******.  Another transmission was shipped and then received May 24, 2022.  The vehicle then had the second transmission swap done and this unit was good, passed all the inspections.  The customer states there was a $200.00 4x4 shaft needed, that is not on his bill.  The customer was not charged for a transmission cooler and installation, checking the functioning of spare tire and release, checking a D/S power window, a trailer connection, and not charged for a fuse for the cigarette lighter. The length of time it took for the customer's vehicle to be finished was due to supply chain issues.  We spoke to Mr. ******** many times on the phone, letting him know the issue with the first transmission and that another would be sent.  Due to no fault of ours.  A customer has the right to rent a vehicle at no cost to our repair facility.  We can contact a specific rental company and get the customer a reduced rate of $30.00 a day for a compact car, which was discussed with Mr. ********.  If the customer gets a rental or upgrades the vehicle that is at their own expense.  When a vehicle is on our lot, we keep customers' vehicles locked if they lock and windows that will go up, up. If a mouse was ever in a customer's vehicle it will do a lot of damage.  They chew through wires, make nests, die, etc., we see it in vehicles that are not driven a lot and/or during winter months.   The transmission carries a 3-year warranty and if there is a transmission issue, we will check it over and get the vehicle taken care of.  The remaining parts that were installed on the vehicle carried a 90 day/3000-mile warranty and are no longer covered.   We replaced the customer's transmission as he agrees was done and we provided a warranty on the transmission that he has in his vehicle.  The customer also had a balance on the **** when he picked it up on June 30, 2022, of which he was allowed to make a partial payment of $200.00 and still take his vehicle and the remaining $201.97 was paid July 11, 2022.   The vehicle without us having seen it in a long time sounds like it has an electrical issue, which can be caused by mice.  We will be more than happy to check over Mr. ********s 2012 **** ******* and let him know what is wrong with it at no charge to him.    Paul A S******, AAMCO Transmission

Re: Complaint ID ********We have not heard from this customer about issues on his vehicle since July 11, 2022. It is now 8 months later. As we would have to hear about and see the vehicle to take care of any issues with our repair, this is not the case. It has been 8 months since we have driven or seen Mr. ********** vehicle, it is also not our practice to put mice in peoples vehicles. With that being said we will not be offering a refund for repairs that were done in June of 2022. We also will not be issuing a reimbursement for a rental that was not rented. A rental is not something our company has to cover. We will cover under warranty any transmission issues under the 3 year warranty stated on his bill. If Mr. ******** had brought his vehicle back to us to check his electrical issue, we would have done so at no cost to him. Mr. ******** chose to take his vehicle somewhere else. If Mr. ******** would like he can get his vehicle to us and we would be more than happy to check over any issues he has, still at no cost to him. Paul A S******, AAMCO Transmissions

Better Business Bureau:    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.  [I did report the water damage and the area that I  suspect the mouse has died on June 11, 2022 with Paul S. Somehow I got quickly turned from the subject. My transmission and the 80 days that my vehicle sat there were on my immediate mind. It feels like my **** is going to break down when I drive  it. I am disabled and don't get into the vehicle every day especially after they transmission repair, it doesn't feel right. This amount of time elapsed because I don't like the idea of causing others hardships. I was going to repair my interior myself, but I can't repair my wiring harness that is no longer made. This has totaled my ****. Maybe you don't put mice in the vehicles? Maybe you get it wet somehow roll the windows down or open doors to dry it? I don't know why else it would stay in Aamco's care for 80 days for a transmission replacement? Two weeks for a transmission delivery and 66days to install it; a 4x4 shaft, radiator cooler and a power window component. Like I said, Aamco offer's $10,000.00 transmission replacements. -$4900.00 parts and labor, -$5000.00 because they ruined my ****s trade in value* *** ******* ******** ***** **** *** of Watertown said my wiring harness is chewed up and my **** might be totaled!   Regards,  **** **
