I contacted Keyme Locksmith at ************ to arrange and schedule for a local locksmith to come out and install my deadbolt lock on my apartment door. On 1/23/2025, a local locksmith named **** came out and explained there would be a service call charge of $50 whether he installed my lock or not, and a $300 fee to install the lock. He explained because I didn't purchase the lock from him, he couldn't guarantee the lock. My sister was also present and could verify these details. The locksmith had to remove the lock that was there to install my new lock. After installing the lock, my sister had to request the locksmith to secure the lock with heavier duty screws and may she test the lock with the keys that came with the lock. This is something a skilled and experienced locksmith should have automatically done. The day after, the lock began to shift, and upon further inspection I noticed that the lock was not secured and aligned properly with the screws. I called **** and he came out to address the issue. However, after he left, and I tested the keys, the entire cylinder shifted. I called **** again, who told me to take a photo of the lock and text it to him. After doing so, **** texted me only saying the lock was working when he left. I don't know how he would know the lock was working when he never tested the keys. He never returned to address the issue afterwards. I then called the company at ************* and informed *** ****** that the locksmith did not install the lock properly, and after he came back a second time, there was still an issue. Although the *** said a manager would call me back, one never did. Instead, the company had the locksmith call me back who was rude and dismissive. My super ended up re-installing the lock, and I have had no issues since my super re-installed it, showing that the locksmith did not properly install the lock. As a resolution, I am requesting a refund.
