    BBB files indicate a pattern of complaint concerning jewelry purchased from a Diamonds International (DI) location while on a vacation or cruise. Consumers who are complaining to BBB about this company cite a few issues, one of which is flawed or inferior merchandise. A number of consumers report that the jewelry that they bought from Diamonds International is defective, such as diamonds becoming loose or falling out not long after purchase. In addition, several consumers claim that the results of an independent appraisal from local gemologist for the jewelry they purchased from the company is much lower than what they were told at the time of purchase. In some cases, the difference in the independent appraisal is reportedly several thousands of dollars less than what was paid for the Diamonds International merchandise. Many consumers who are seeking a refund allegedly encounter difficulty with the company. In some cases consumers claim that Diamonds International will only offer them partial credit or store credit for the merchandise they have bought. Some consumers say they were told by company representatives at the time of purchase that if for any reason they are not satisfied with the product, they can return it within 30 days of the purchase for a full refund.

      During a Royal Caribbean cruise Thanksgiving week 2022, we stopped at Diamonds International in Roatan, ********. After intense, non-stop sales pressure, I purchased several items, including a pair of Crown of Light chocolate and white diamond earrings and a Crown of Light chocolate and white diamond necklace. Upon getting these home, and having our jeweler look at them, he pointed out that the diamonds are so flawed and inferior that he would never even sell such horrible quality. (Now, I'm wondering if they switched the product?) When I asked for an appraisal, he said $400 for the earrings (I paid $4900) and $500 for the necklace (I paid $3665). I went on another cruise in April, and discovered Diamonds International now has a store onboard Royal Caribbean ships. I took the earrings and necklace to the store and explained the situation asking to return the purchases for a refund. The regional manager said there was nothing he could do, unless I wanted to upgrade and pay even more for another higher quality purchase! I just want to return these horribly inferior, over-price pieces and get my money back. I will never set foot in a Diamonds International store again. Anywhere.

      I purchased a Longines watch from the Diamonds International location in ****** ******* on October 10, 2022 for $1900.00. After the sale, the salesperson ***** placed the watch in the incorrect box (non-matching numbers) without the instruction manual and warranty card. This was all done after our transaction. I now have a watch without provenance or all items which should have been included. I called the store and was told they lowered the prices on their watches due lost paperwork during a hurricane. I was never told of a price discount based on missing paperwork or boxes. I have offered to return the boxes I have once I receive the correct items matching my watch. Im sure a future customer would like to have the box match the watch as well. I have emailed and called. No action yet from customer service email or store. I'm persistent and I will continue to seek a resolution.

      Ring delivered did not meet expectation I purchased a ring at Diamonds International shop located on the ****** Fantasy ship in December. The ring was small and fit on my pinky. I had indicated that I would rather have on my ring finger and was told it could be done and would look the same. Since we were on a cruise line, we would have to custom order the ring in order to obtain the size needed as it would be the only way to get the ring in the size and maintain the integrity of the ring. I finally received the ring and it is not the ring purchased. The solution to obtaining the ring in the larger size was to flatten the shape and add a clump of gold in the back thus making it a different ring. I called and no one answered. I sent a follow up e-mail as well because the product delivered was not the product purchased and no response.

      They switched diamonds. No refund and they took diamond and printed a bogus receipt. We are out money and diamond
