I had a leak in a sewer pipe in my basement. I found Drain Doctor ** online and made an appointment. **************** came out to look at the issue and told me they could reline my pipe so it would not leak anymore. He sent me an estimate for $10,500 for the job and a contract outlining what Drain Doctor NY would do to fix the issue. I signed the contract and put down a $5,000 deposit (via Zelle) to start the job. No one ever called me to schedule an appointment. I called him several times to set up a day and time and he finally agreed to come January *****. He never showed up. I called and texted several times and he never responded to my calls or texts. I finally realized that he was never actually going to come to do any of the work that he had promised, nor was he going to refund my $5,000 deposit. **************** is running a fraudulent business and preying upon people in need of such services. His business should be shut down and he should be in jail for fraud.Customer response

Dear BBB,
*************** to your question regarding the complaint I filed against Drain Doctor **.
Upon accepting my signed contract and $5,000 deposit to start the job, the owner agreed to fix my leaking sewer pipes from January 29 through January 31. He never showed up on January 29 and I have still not heard from him. He will not answer my phone calls and has ignored my numerous messages and texts.
In short, he has taken my money and performed no work.
