End of July 2021 entered into a "cabin only" lifetime (capped at 80 years) camping membership with Alleghany Moutain Resort at Rainbow Lake in East Otto, NY which was paid in full (around $11,000) within months to avoid the high interest of the credit card they immediately set you up with. Along with this there are yearly maintenance fees of about $200. Booked a 3 night stay for Memorial Day weekend 5/27/22-5/29/22. By the evening 5/28 I had a line of bites going from my pinky to my neck on my left side and just a few on my right. I checked the sheets and found 4 bed bugs. One that I killed and 3 that I bagged to show the office. I called the security gaurds office as soon as I realized what we found at midnight and they said there was nothing they could do until the office opened in the morning at 8am but someone should be in there around 7am and be left the information to give me a call. I waited until 8:15am, no one called. I called and Michelle answered. Said she was waiting for a more reasonable time to call. That she was actually going to walk over but was waiting for a more reasonable time. She almost immediately started telling me that they have had bed bug issues in the past but thought they had it taken care of. Supposedly new matresses were brought in and our mattress was checked throughly including by her before the stay. She offered to refund our entire stay. I asked that they cover the bedding too since we couldnt bring that home, She agreed. After leaving I found over 30 bites, went to urgent care, missed work, etc. I called a few days later and said I wanted to cancel the membership for a refund. They came back with upgrading my membership to full camping. But we dont tent camp or have an RV. Then a few weeks later she said they were going to start providing the linens for the cabins and offered a free week stay and would call me back in a day or so. That was 6/12 and havent heard from her since. I have left several messages.
