      In July 2020, I had a waste drain overflow. I went online and clicked on "call" to a company that I wanted to use. Disaster Relief answered the phone, not telling me that they were not the company I was looking to speak with. They came out and assessed the clean-up. I was provided a very vague price listing, but had no knowledge of how expensive the job would be. Bob from Disaster Relief played on my senses and promised they would take care of me and insurance would pay the whole bill. Mind you, they did a decent job, but when the bill came, I fell off my chair. It was for $25,000! I contacted the company I originally wanted to use and they came out after the fact and quoted me $5,000! I can't believe that Disaster Relief charged that much and how can someone pay that? My insurance only covered a 1/4 of that bill. Thankfully I was able to settle my debt with Bob for about half the amount. I would suggest to anyone to never, never, never hire this company and to always pay attention to who answers the phone. It may not be the company you wanted to speak with.

      Thank you, ***** for your review. I'm sorry to hear about your negative experience with our company and I would like to formally apologize. I am glad that you have brought this to our attention. We do have a system in place of how we are to approach potential customers once they have experienced a difficult time such as that of a loss that has been in place for a number of years, but is always open for criticism and improvement. We try to make it as transparent as possible to everyone who we are and what services we offer. Clearly we dropped the ball in explaining ourselves adequately. We do have a list containing prices for the equipment that we use and labor for everything that we present upon first interacting with people experiencing a disaster and have begun sending out more information to keep customers more informed on our processes. Alongside this we do check in with our clients to ensure that they are satisfied with the work that we are performing. On behalf of pricing differences, our prices reflect the quality of work that we perform and the knowledge and certifications held by all employees to uphold the highest quality of care. It is easier to quote a job once it is completed for lower than actual cost not being able to see or experience the damage firsthand. Per NYS third party mold assessment report we invoiced and completed work per the advisement of that company and in compliance with NYS Mold laws and guidelines.
