Important information

  • Advertising Review:
BBB sent correspondence to Hair and Body Essentials Salon and Day Spa on January 13, January 22, and February 4, 2025 requesting proof of licensing for services offered, such as massage therapists, as well as removal of medicinal and therapeutic claims for CBD from all advertising and marketing materials to include the website https://www.hairnbodyessentials.com/.

To date, the business has responded, but has not removed the medical and therapeutic claims from her advertising.

According to BBB's Code of Advertising:

    1.   Basic Principles of the Code

Advertisements should be truthful, sincere offers to sell. Advertisers have a responsibility to have substantiation for all claims made and should be able to provide that substantiation upon request.  All advertising that may mislead or deceive consumers should be avoided.

    34. Claimed Results
Claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data.

To date, the FDA has not approved CBD as a drug, so medicinal and therapeutic claims cannot be advertised for CBD products. Some of the CBD claims in the advertising include:
    Reducing pain and soreness
    Boosting your immune system
    Reducing joint inflammation
    Stimulating your circulation
    Improving your sleep
    Decreasing anxiety
