The solar panels install** at my home and servic** by Kamtech was not working as they should from 06/18/24 to 02/03/25, although the panels were collecting and producing energy the inverter on the panels were not working and they did not transfer any information of my solar production to electric company (******) during that time. I was not aware that the panels were not working correctly and the outage ran over the holiday seaon when we were using Christmas lights etc. In January ***** sent me a bill for $1,572.34 That was when they explain** to me the issue with my panels. I imm**iatly reach** out to Kamtech in January The solar panels only start** working as intend** after they finally sent a technician to my home on 02/03/25. Kamtech told me to send them the bill and they would assess for reimbursement for my ****** ***** The panels then stopp** working again in March and they sent another technician on 03/25/25. I have been following up with them about my reimbursement for my bill for since February and each time the customer service *** told me that a manager is reviewing my case for reimbursement and they will call me back. Not one time has someone call** back and now they have stopp** responding to me. I made a payment plan with ****** but my electricity was cut off on 06/17/25 because I have not been able to keep up with this large bill creat** due to Kamtech's equipment not working. I am also paying $546 monthly for these solar panels so they should reimburse me.Business Response

I got the solar panels installed 2021 I agreed to have the roof fixed and then the panels installed. After agreeing to purchase the solar panels they did not uphold there end and fix the roof before installing the solar panels. I have been having complications with roof leaks since then. I have been contacting kamtech for the last few months regarding this situation. Every time I contact them they continue to prolong the situation. After contacting ConEdison Ive learned that I havent been receiving any credits from the panels since August 2023. Now Kamtech is asking for an additional $13,000 to fix something that should have initially been done in the first place. I am owed my solar credits for the last year and half and Im seeking for Kamtech to rectify the situation and correct what should have been done since the beginning.Business Response

From the first conversation with the homeowner, we helped them apply for a loan for the roof replacement, however, they then decided they wanted to pay by cash and will let us know when the daughter will be able to provide the check.
The roof install was scheduled and upon arrival we were declined access because the daughter with the check is not there, and they asked to reschedule. It is up to the homeowner now to provide a date that works for both themselves and the contractor that the daughter will be home to provide the money and for us to do the roof installation. Now, the customer wants a written contract before handing any money over, which we have prepared, now waiting on the customer to provide us availability.
We have done everything we can to make sure that this customer gets what they want smoothly.

Company quoted $13,000 to have the work completed. However company sent over a loan agreement almost 3x the quoted amount at around $30,000. After declining to sign the loan and opting to pay out of pocket company said a $5,000 deposit was needed. Told company written contract is needed stating what would be done, when it would be done and quoted amount. Company said they would prepare contact but I still have yet to receive new contract. New written contract is needed seeing as how company does not uphold verbal agreements. When technician came to property he came with no Kamtech identification, no contract, nor any equipment. *** had cashier check waiting for over two weeks now. We are always available I want my roof fixed as soon as possible. Technician can come as early as tomorrow or any day after as long as new contract is obtained. This experience has been anything but smooth. It has been very frustrating and time consuming and the roof leaks are causing damage to the interior of my property.In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Asked company for a new contract with the agreed upon terms and they send an old document with changed dates and the new price amount. The original agreed upon price for that contract was ***** this was included in my original payment of ******. This was supposed to take place prior to the panels being installed and this did not happen. Now I have roof leaks and they send me the exact same document asking for ****** with my docusign signature already on there to an agreement that I have not approved of. I want exact stipulation on what is being done, terms that I agree to and I want them to actually fulfill these terms agreed upon.

The customer claims they have paid $26,000.00 which there is no record of payment or communication about that amount. There was no cash payment involved in the solar installation either. The contract is attached, they had a straight loan with SFC.
We have spoken to the husband ****** ******* about the cost of $13,000 for the roof and he agreed in which we proceeded in generating a contract, which he mentioned he did not know how to use a computer so we generated a Docusign contract for records.
On Feb 27, 2025 at 4:34 PM ***** ** the sales manager was on the line with ****** ******* and applied for the ******** loan for $13,000.00 where he provided the social security and personal information for ******** *******, in which she was also on the line to provide that information. However, they were declined so we decided to try a different bank with *****************. They were approved for the $13,000.00 loan and prequalified for $13,800.00 as well. All the information that was gathered from both ****** ******* and ******** ******* in terms of occupation, employment duration, etc, was obtained during this phone call. ****** then asked to call back a week later for him to discuss with his daughter about alternative options about paying in cash instead. Nowhere was stated about the price of $5,000.
Attached is the proof of contract where there is no cash involved, also the communication with the banks for prequalification for the $13,000 loan for the roof, which the client agreed and provided their social security information to the bank in order for them to apply.

In July 2022 I had solar panel installed. They refused to repair the roof prior to installing the panel. Upon the installation of the panels, I began to have roof leaks. I contacted the company to ask for them to fix the problem. It took them close to two months before someone came and they said it was not a roof problem. I had the gutters fixed, I had the chimney fixed and still I continued to have roof leaks. I have attempted to contact the company via phone, via email and they have not returned my calls or emails. I contacted another roof company that came out and fixed my roof. The roof was completely rotted and in bad conditions. I had to pay an additional $5000 to get my roof fixed. Now that Kamtech Solar Solutions has my money, now they do not want to follow through with keeping their commitment. Kamtech Solar Solutions is operated by incompetent and inconsiderable people. They are very unprofessional. I regret doing business with Kamtech Solar Solutions. I would like Kamtech to cover the cost of the roof repair..$5000.Business Response

Through a site visit to the home, the roof leak was deemed not caused by the solar panels. She has a large hole in her siding, photos were sent to the customer of where the leakage was coming from. Kamtech solar installed solar panels on our property (***************************************) in 2020. Our ConEd bills have been extremely high and we were informed my ConEd that the energy the solar panels were generating were not being registered and there may be an issue with the inverter. Kamtech *************) was notified and had a technician come to the house on 10/29 but he was not able to resolve the issue. I was later informed that a new monitoring kit L, Envoy Installation kit, which needed to be installed by a different company called Enphase. Kamtech representative, ******** ****** ******************************************************* informed me that Kamtech would pay for this kit once they received the payment link from Enphase. The link was sent from 11/8 and payment still has not been submitted. Multiple emails have been sent since 11/8 requesting an update without a response. I spoke with another representative, ******* ********************************************************** on 11/19 who ensured me that a project manager would be forwarded the link to provide payment, yet payment still was not received. I am requesting better business bureau to intervene and get Kamtech to pay for the Envoy installation kit, which will be installed by *************** *************).Business Response

The customer cashed the check. Attached is the image from the bank. So the customer did receive the check, in the claim she says she never received it.
Per our technician the issue was the monitoring box-pvs6 which was not functional. Per the tech system-panels were working.
This house has 3 meters combined together, ******* ******** does not live there, there are tenants and the consumption has most likely increased in the past 5 years.

Solar system installed in December of 2022. The quote for the system included Critter Guards. The Critter Guards were never installed and now there are pigeons roosting under the panels. I am assuming it was just harmlessly overlooked on the install and not deliberate. I am looking for them to install the critter guards to keep critters out to avoid damage to the roof. I contacted Kamtech solar solutions to do my roof. Everything was almost finish in a satisfactory way, however, the company did not complete the job because they did not install the skylight as expected. the ******************* had was that the skylight has to be ordered. I understood that and it made sense to me. However after two weeks and after more than ***** messages left in their answering system, after having contacted the person in charge of text messages by the name of *******, and by emailing her several times. Kamtech has not returned to complete the work. The stairs inside of my house were affected due to water coming through the hole they covered wit a plate of board, which moved as a result of the wind from tropical ***** *******.Unfortunately I made the foolish mistake of paying the full amount for the work, which I recognize is my mistake.Finally, the workers installing the solar panels that they had removed broke many spots in the new roof cover that was installed. I complained and I was told the person who will come to install the skylight will fix that problem.Business Response

I am a 69 year old with medical issues and my daughter and myself was taken advantage of by Kamtech. Now due to additional damage to the roof I am having issues shopping around for more affordable home insurance due to the roof damage. I had Solar panels installed from ********* June 2018. They contracted the installer Kamtech Solar Solutions. After couple of months I develop leaks in my home bedroom, bath, hallway. Contacted ***** and Kamtech and **** ***** who at the time work for *********. ***** came out and painted my roof. **** ***** told me that they should have replaced my roof because the report from the inspector said the roof was not good. Now in February of ************************************************************************ my daughters bathroom. Contacted ***** at ****** and he did not come out until a month later due to the constant rain we had. He did not come he sent two workers spoke no english and could not communicate well with me on what I experienced. I contacted ********* because now Kamtech is saying its not the solar. I have multiple communication emails between myself and Sunpower with ****** on the email asking me for license roofer report. I provide showing the findings. The roof was not structural sound to install such large panels. They have string me along until now Sunpower has filed bankruptcy. I am telling them for the size of the solar and the roof was not strong to handle it when the wind and rain makes the legs shift and water comes in. They told me get a licensed roofer to inspect and send them the report I did around May 2024 and to date no resolution. I hand my ceiling repainted and constantly get nervous when it rains. Sunpower and Kamtech should have replaced the roof before installing or dont install at all.Business Response
