This person is a crook and a bandit that should be in jail. Stole basically $10,000 from us, left the house a mess and walked away. What little bit of work he did was equal to a 9 year old amateur. Sorry it took us 7 weeks to figure out what kind of a person we were dealing with. The 5 star review you see is from his wife, so don't buy into his scam. He bilked us daily for "more money", then took off for vacation with the money, did zero work. It will cost us 10k now to fix what he ruined. His modus seems to be the same after I see the other reviews. He refused to show receipts for any materials purchased and lets just say we are victims of a big con game. The one star is only because its required. If there were a negative 10 stars, thats what we would give him.

We have videos of everything that was completed. Customer changed paint colors twice and does not want to pay extra for that. They are saying $10k but that included material and all material is at their job. ****** isn’t the customer ***** is. ****** is a manager/Realitor for the owner and upset that we did the job and not “her guy” because she gets a cut of it. This came right from owner direct. We did everything the invoice was. Your posting false info, I don’t have a wife. I’m sorry you feel this way. They wanted us to do more work and not pay more. Who will continue working ? No one will. All receipts were submitted to ****** via text message as asked every time. We will not work for free sorry ******. A to Z handyman is a licensed to rob you of your hard earned money! When I first met Mike he came to my home he was very nice and “seemed” to know what he needed to do to complete the job I hired him for. I wish I read comments here before I made that decision. He said I needed to pay up front for materials and if I paid in cash he would not charge me tax (saving us both a little money) I happily agreed. That was the last time I saw him. I called many times his wife gave me excuse after excuse as to why he was unable to do the work I hired him for from waiting for materials, being on vacation to having covid. I am beside myself and embarrassed that I let this man take advantage of me like this. When I pressed the issue further he went as far as telling me I could “stick the money up my a.. after we wiped his b.ll sack on it” disgusting! Then called and apologized said he was having a bad day. I asked him nicely to simply send my money back and we would both go on with our lives he agreed. Well that was 4 months ago and I am still waiting I guess the old saying applies here … “the checks in the mail” NOT. I am seeking legal action as I am writing this. *** SAVE YOURSELF HEADACHE AND MONEY: DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN **** I won't repeat much of what other reviews had stated, because it is basically the same story since Michael Mergendahl follows the same game plan (verbatim) over and over again. This man will take as much money as he can from you and give you nothing in return but excuses for not showing up to work, and he will then leave you at the end stranded with work undone and job not finished. I hired Michael Mergendahl back in April 2021 to make a small office and bathroom in my basement. He requested a big down payment in order to get all materials and finish the job quick within 10 days. Five months later, I still have no office and no bathroom. Mind you, I dealt with Michael Mergendahl in good faith and respect, and was very friendly, respectful and generous to him and his crew (in the few times he showed up to work). You'd assume that any other human being would appreciate that good treatment and reciprocate it by finishing his job in a timely and satisfactory manner --anyone would do that but NOT Michael Mergendahl. This man will give you endless loops of excuses and lies of all types, shapes and sizes. He will further drag matters on as long as he possibly could in order to make you despair and give up so he can get way with your money. So learn from my (and other people's) mistakes and avoid Michael Mergendahl like a plague. And if you ignore the negative reviews here, then rest assured that you will end up regretting your decision like I do now. Good thing in my case is that I had Michael Mergendahl signed a contract which he (of course) violated from day one. And though I gave him a chance after chance to make good on his part of the contract, he never did. Now I am following every legal means available to me to get my money back, and I will not stop until I get back every single penny Michael Mergendahl took from me.Review from Cheryl C

I recently used A to Z Handyman to take care of cracks in my foundation as well as painting it. They also fixed a leak in my faucet and installed my new bifold closet doors. They did a great job and I'll be using them again for some floor installation and interior painting very soon.Review from Michelle H.

**DO NOT HIRE MICHAEL M. FROM A TO Z HANDYMAN SERVICES, LLC. He will tell you he needs money upfront to get the materials and start the work, but never return and give excuses as to why he can't start the job and keep your money. He and his wife will tell you he will be there on a certain day and time but never show. I gave this guy more than 1/2 of the entire quote and never seen him again. He will speak to you with nasty profanity language which for lack of better words is disgusting, disgrace and unprofessional. He will tell you he don't want to work for you and he will give you your money back but never does. Then to say he will keep as did some work but never did a thing. It's pretty sad and leaves a big pit in my stomach to know how much money I gave this guy and for him to just keep it and think it's okay. It's a shame when people work extremely hard and extra to be able to come up with money let alone provide for their families and to try to hire a contractor to do work for them to have their homes looking, nice up to code or whatever it may be and they never do. This just literally makes me sick to my stomach to know this guy has literally stolen my hard earned money from me and my family. This is just SO NOT RIGHT AND SICKENING. This is not a true story. Michelle was issued a refund in July and never cashed her check until February of the next year 8 months later. She didn’t put that in her review at all. She was issued a refund and held a refund check for 8 months and then cashed it. Weird. We have the proof of this.
