0 Stars my dad passed on Dec 17th 2023 I made my Claim Dec 19th 2023 gave all required documents policy is over 2 years and has went through 3 review process has been approved by a manager but is still in home office review since ******************************************************************************************** nothing els cant talk to a supervisor No other information is given to me this is gotta be a scam theres nothing left for them to do why is it taking so long they wont even give a time limit so it can be in home office review forever ? My mother had Lumico Life since 2020 until Feb of 2024. They sent my 85yrs old mother a letter on Feb 1st, 2024 stating her policy have been canceled. Due to a recent medical report showing in 2022 she had to get a pacemaker in which she didn't need at the time when she first gotten her policy. However, they still withdraw the premium $113 from her bank account on Feb 3rd, 2024. And since she received that letter on Feb 1st that means they already had canceled her policy in January. She had paid this company a total of $5400 that she's not going to get back. Lumico is a SCAM company that is setup to steal from customers not to payout to customers. And I see this customer name ********************** left a 5 Stars review for this SCAMMING company. Unaware that her love ones is going to be dealing with these same issues when she dies like all the rest of these victims that's leaving BAD REVIEWS!!! I told my sister to count it as a BLESSING FROM GOD!!! Even though my mother is doing awesome and have another 30+yrs left of her life. At least we know now we don't have to go through what these victims in these reviews are dealing with. We decided to get her a funeral plan instead with the Funeral Home where she will go. LUMICO, I will be getting investigation started along with Law Firm to see why these suffering family members claims are being denied and not getting any payouts. And send this information along with all these bad reviews from this platform as well as BBB platform.Review from Stephanie M

I would rate this company a zero if possible. This has been an absolute nightmare for ** trying to get my mom funeral handled!!!! I have had a lumico Term policy for about a year and am extremely happy with them. Easy to talk to and get ahold of. Payments come out of my account on the specified date every month and I sleep better every night knowing that my family is taken care of if/when I pass away.Lumico Life Insurance Company Response

Firstly, this company must be crooked because I have called the main number now for two weeks and I've spent hours on the phone and no one answers. If the phone is answered no one responds for a few seconds 15 seconds and disconnects.I have paid my premiums now for two years I get a notice my payment was rejected....did I say I called for weeks to resolve the issue? I sent an email and days later I get an email and gusess what I told...to call the customer service numeber..>WTF!My advice is to not become a customer with this ********************** and I am going to put my response out to the world to show. I'm glad I am not dead what h*** my family would go through to get service.They should change thier name to "CROOKiCO"Lumico Life Insurance Company Response

MY MOM PASSED AWAY 10/22/2023. I SENT EVERYTHING THEY REQUESTED AND TILL THIS DAY THE FUNERAL HAS NOT BEEN PAID. THEY ARE NOW BILLING ME.THIS IS SAD AND EVERYTIME I CALL NO ONE RETURNS MY CALLS OR ANSWRS.WE PAID MY *********** EVERY MONTH ON TIME. IT WAS PASS THE 2 YEAR GUIDELINES IN ORDER FOR THE INSURANCE TO PAY OUT WHEN MY MOM PASSED WAY. Hi ****,We are so sorry to hear that your mother passed away, and that your experience with us hasn't been smooth. We checked our records and discovered that a funeral home assignment was received and signed by *********************** instead of you. We received a withdrawal from *********************** on 11/13/23. On 11/14/23 the funeral home sent in again the claim form signed *********************** On 12/21/23 we received the death certificate, but the claim form signed by *********************** had yet to be received. Multiple letters have been mailed to you requesting the claim form (11/15/23, 12/8/23 and 12/22/23). As of 1/4/23, the claim form was received and is being processed. Looked at all these reviews and reviews from better business bureau in another state. All say the same thing that Lumico Life Insurance does not pay out. I regret ever getting it. The agent on the phone who sold it to me was a jerk. I should have known. Going to *** them for my money back in a civil suit. Going to cancel my policy. Going to have to close my account because no doubt theyre going to try to keep taking the money out sharks and thieves that they are. Lumico may you close down.Review from Payton B

Worse Company. My sisters husband was killed in Head on Collision May 17. As of Oct, still no information. You can not speak with anyone that can answer a question. They claim no supervisors, no one calls back. Told they communicate every 15 days by mail but in 4 months have only heard twice. Once was one sentence stating claim reviewed, another was a next of kin form that was sent the month prior. You cant talk to same person so I have been told several times they have everything, only to call back to be told they need more information. Next told, waiting on medical. I called medical office, told nothing requested. Told again waiting on medical, I called all offices who said everything sent. Lumico couldnt tell me or medical office what was needed. Said wasnt their job, wasnt their ***** I understand reviewing information but he didnt die of health reasons. He had an accidental rider and died in accident. Lumico said they gave wrong fax to the medical people. Had wrong claim number. Luckily, i had medical resend and got conformation that it was received. My Sister has lost husband, lost her house, funeral still needs to be paid. My sister and her husband are mentally challenged, living on SSI and thought they were being responsible to get a policy to help the other in event of death. They were so proud to tell us they planned for future. Did agent take advantage or is company fraudulent but 4.5 months should be ample time to payout policy. Lumico claim review is because policy is less than 2 years old. Lumico received death certificate and accident report immediately. Last 2 people didnt even know that it was an accident so they need to look at notes before reading script. And dont tell someone you know how they feel unless you loss your spouse, your home and have people calling you to pay funeral expenses. My sister would rather have her husband but that isnt possible. Sister paid policy, which had accidental rider and report shows head on collision.Review from Phyllis H

ABSOLUTE WORSE. HOW DARE YOU GIVE THEM.AN A RATING..ARE YOU KIDDING? I experienced the same issues as reviews below. Forms lost over and over again, months and months of reviews and in.the end, OVER 6 MOS. after my husband passed away, NO CHECK. SAID HE WAS NOT ELIGIBLE for full *** HE PAID ON THE POLICY (he was a few months from.2 yr minimum). Bogus "COMPANY" -- DO NOT USE AND TELL OTHERS.Lumico Life Insurance Company Response
