On 7/28/2023 I had a colonoscopy (covered 100% by my insurance, no-deductible); On 9/4/2023 I received a statement for $1,500; On 9/18/2023 I spoke with my insurance company which stated I have no responsibility to pay the $1500 as this is a 100% covered procedure; On 9/18/2023, I sent the Northern Nevada Medical Center an email to: **************** included the billing statement and explanation of benefits from my insurer; On 9/19/2023, I received an email form: **************** Christina T*****, Patient Account Specialist stating she would send my account to be reviewed and get back to me; Yesterday, 11/8/2023, I received another statement reflecting a balance of $1,500; Today 11/9/2023, I again contacted UMR (my insurance) to inquire about this fee. According to my insurance (explanation of benefits) and my insurance plan, I do not owe $1500. I emailed NNMC again requesting they correct the account. The Northern Nevada Medical Center is attempting to collect a fee from me that they are not entitled to.
