    We hired American Tax Service to complete and submit 2 rejected *** income tax returns (2017, 2018). They were also going to get us a low payment plan and have late fees, etc. reduced or removed. They copied information from our previous tax returns (2017, 2018) which took awhile and then asked us to sign them. When we went to sign them, the figures showed the *** owed us money. It took some time to have that all cleaned up because we actually owed money. After several months of frequent letters from the *** and lack of communication from ATS, they finally sent a payment plan for us to sign. This occurred approximately 4-5 weeks ago. We seldom got any feedback from them about what was taking place. We were suppose to make the first ****** payment to the *** on July 1st but never heard anything from the *** (after being told we would after about 2 weeks). When we called ATS, she was confused and didnt remember we even signed it. She then looked (I think) on the computer and couldnt figure out where it was. Since we are approaching July 1st and after receiving another letter from the **** I called the *** myself. I was told by the *** that they never received an agreement. I spent time on the phone with the *** doing what ATS should have done. We were lucky they didnt put a lean or levy on our home like the letters said they would. I took care of what needed to be done and now have a payment plan with the ***. The late fees and charges are still there. They never kept us informed about what was going on. We paid ATS about ***** and I had to address so much of what needed to be done. We also asked them to help with the state taxes but never got a response.

    Company contacted with an understanding that they could help with lowering my cost of debt so that I would only have to pay a small amount they were contacting up until they received the ****** dollars and then all of a sudden they stop reaching out I called several occasions with no reply no emails and when they decided to reply I was met with nasty customer ********************** I asked about a refund they were telling me that were not giving a refund they never provide a service never even contacted the *** on my behalf they told me they were giving a refund they provided no proof of what they say the did

    I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the handling of my *** audit resolution by American Tax Services (ATS).Following audit findings from the *** for tax year 2022, I engaged ATS in September 2024 and paid $2,000 in two installments (September 6 and September 24) to assist in resolving the matter. Unfortunately, the service I have received since then has been severely lacking in both communication and *********** initial case manager, ***** *******-******, failed to provide any substantial updates beyond confirming that a Power of Attorney (POA) form had been faxed to the ***. Despite repeated follow-ups, no documentation or evidence of progress was shared with me.On March 24, 2025, I received two *** noticesNotice CP79 (disallowing tax credits) and Notice CP22A (indicating a balance due of $19,887.01 by April 14, 2025). I immediately contacted ***** via email, but received no response. Upon calling ATS, I was informedwithout prior notificationthat my case had been reassigned to ***** ******.After further prompting, Mr. ****** contacted me, stating that my case is under review by a POA who is expected to work with an *** agent. However, I have yet to receive a timeline, an action plan, or any formal proof that representation has been established. I am also concerned that interest and penalties continue to accrue, suggesting that ATS has not actively engaged with the *** as *********** date, I have received no meaningful communication, no documentation of progress, and no evidence of active representation. I remain at risk of further financial consequences due to this inaction.

Since your office has not resolved this issue despite several months of delay, I am formally requesting a refund. I have been issued multiple months of interest due to inaction on your part, and I am now receiving notifications from the *** regarding access to my assets.     We have tried multiple times to speak with this person.  The *** rejected there initial filings ( deductions) and wants supporting docs to back up the original tax return.  This person won't supply us with the necessary docs needed to go thru the audit recon.  The *** won't do anything else, until these docs are provided.  We have told this party this several times.  They do not won't to provide them, for whatever reason(s).  We would love to speak again, and see if they would be willing to provide the doc's the *** requires.

    I receive multiple calls (5 to 10) per day from this company using phone numbers from all over the country. I have requested that they remove me from their call list. My phone number is registered with the "Do not call" registry, which does not seem to do any good.

    I have looked in our database.  Your name, email and phone number do not exist.  So our company has not had an interaction any of those.  There are third party marketing companies, that do marketing campaigns.  They do those campaigns for multiple companies.  Maybe its them.  It is not us.  Or at least, it isn't the phone number or name that you provided in your complaint.

    On 3/18/25 and 3/25/25 i made 2 payments to this firm for the amount $4400.00 total. After the 2 payments cleared i had no interaction with this firm until the week of 4/28/25 when I stopped the last payment of $2750.00 from coming out. At that point I finally got a call about the money. At that point I told the firm I wanting to fire them and expected a refund at which I was told I would not get a refund. They collected $4400.00, disappeared with no contact and only came calling about their money I want all $4400.00 refunded.

    My sister and I, both senior citizens, owned a *********************** and had been unable to pay the annual $800 fees since 2007--we owed fees and penalties. I called ATS in 2022 to help us with our problem and talked for quite a while with **** *******, explaining the situation in detail. He said ATS could help, so I paid the $1,500 fee. I did not hear back. Over the next year I made 30+ phone calls, mostly with no response and no callback; went through 4 case managers; the firm moved from *********** to ********* and I had to track them down; until finally, almost a year later, the last case manager told me ATS only deals with tax problems and could not help with fees. When I asked for my money back they first offered $250, then a week later, $200. They claimed to have done a lot of work (a mystery to me considering my dozens of unanswered phone calls etc.). I claimed they should have told me in the first place they couldn't help me rather than lying about it. In essence, they sold me a service they don't offer and can't deliver. Why should I pay for that? Or are they just fraudsters/scammers? When I asked to speak to the owner or a person in charge, the information was refused. I would just like my money back.

    I am rejecting this response because:  In their response, ATS effectively acknowledged that the facts in my complaint were true ( I also have written notes on each of my contacts with them--and attempts to contact them).  They accepted my payment for a service I was misled to believe they offered.  In fact, they did not offer the service I paid for; therefore, they owe me a full refund of my payment.  Moreover, they delayed my ability to resolve my problem with the State of ********** for nearly a year which cost me another $800 in fees to the state, plus additional interest and penalties.  In the letter of apology to the BBB, they also stated they would contact me.  I have now waited a week.  No contact.  This is the same lack of sincerity I endured for nearly a year.  ("Oh, he's away from his desk but will get back to you".)  I am not asking to punish ATS in any way. I simply want a refund of my $1500 payment for services not delivered.  It is not good enough to say "we're sorry and won't do it again" when their actions could well be construed as fraud.  Thank you.

    Entered in to on Oct. 2, 2020, paid $3250.00 ATS did not reduce or negotiate a payment plan to our finances. And it has taken 5yrs instead of 1yr according to the contract which states 365 days from the date of this agreement or until services are completed. They were supposed to keep me informed about my case and they never did, I have had 7 different case managers and had to send them paper work all the time with every case manger and copies of my tax forms. They say if I pay them $1000.00 dollars they will reopen my case and waste my time for nothing. I would like something done about them, because they won't refund me any money even after 5yrs of doing nothing.

    This "taxpayer" has been being asked for documents to support his resolution for 5 years. Without those documents his case can't successfully move forward.  While I won't give him a refund.  I would agree to complete his file.  That is the only thing we would be willing to do.  Period.  If he can agree to give us the required documents we will submit the original agreed upon resolution.  And his case can close. That's more than fair.

    The contract says it is good for 1 year, unless renewed at our discretion.  You went "dark" multiple times, and would not get us the documents required for our process.  While we don't usually enforce the "time frame" on the contracts of 1 year.  We can if the client doesn't get us our required documents back to us.  That is what the contract says.

    Its hard to remember all the dates but this all started over a year ago and still not going anywhere. They never filled my taxes last year kept getting the run around that they filled an extension. Then this year comes around still no resolution and they wanted more money to settle my state, I tried telling them I couldnt owe anything to the state cause I paid them over ****** last year still wasnt hearing that. Ive tried telling them numerous times that all the money Ive paid them I could have just paid the *** and probably been done. That didnt want to hear that. Its like they they get you over a barrel and theres nothing you can do about it. One of the guys even stayed what do you think Ive done with your money took a trip, didnt sit well with me.

    We have filed ********* already, and ********* are sitting in your in box to be signed.  Until you are compliant (basically filing the last 6 years of taxes + being current where applicable with current years filings). Once you sign for 2023 taxes, and 2024 taxes.  We then have to wait for the tax authorities to process your returns, so that it is reflected in your tax transcripts.
    Once those things are completed, then the resolution part of the process can begin.  If youre not compliant, the only things that you can qualify for (basically) are full pay, or payment plan options.  Which is why the process can take so long. 
    We have been reaching out to get to the next steps, can you please return the calls, and please sign the tax returns that have been sent out.

    The complaint outlines several key points: The company failed to file necessary documents on the user's behalf, leading to the finalization of their retirement without the company's assistance. The user indicated that, due to a change in their situation, they no longer required the company's services and requested the return of a $2,500 payment. Despite explaining this situation multiple times, the company refused to refund the amount. Additionally, a billing representative misrepresented his authority, suggesting the user needed to persuade him to return the funds. The company also did not fulfill its obligation due to outstanding documentation from ***, which the user has not yet received. Ultimately, the user managed to create an installment agreement independently, without the company's support.

    Client called in and literally said he needed us to get a hold on his account so that his CSEDs would expire, the *** only gave us 30 days of a hold, which wasnt sufficient to kill off the CSEDs.  The client committed to an additional fee so that the hold might be extended with additional filings, which it did achieve.  Literally all this is a product of his doing, I am guessing he spoke to some other companies to tell him about this methodology, as he called asking for this.

    When we achieved this for him, he decided to try and back out after receiving the exact result he asked for and designed.  The back taxes fell off.  Voila!!

    The company has no intentions on doing anything accepted steal.  Beyond initial first actions I have completely all task with the ***.  They continue to misrepresent any actions presented or future.  They are not able to accomplish anything a normal citizen can do by themselves.  Their misrepresentation to convince patient I al clients should be considered a crime.  The response shows a lack of professionalism.

    This client literally called in to ask for a very specific remedy of his choosing.  Was given that exact remedy.  Contractually obligates himself to that end.  Then begins all of this. It is absolutely crazy.  But.... ATS will reach out by Friday of  this week, and resolve this with the client.

    the business clearly ****** to any level and lies.  I resolved my own matter with no help from them.  The only thing they have stood for is they dont provide refunds.  This company is full of liars and will continue to Mialead the public to steal money they have not earned.
