I applied for a unit with this property management company on July 3. I called to follow up on my application on July 6. When speaking with ****, he was very rude. I had asked him for the status of my application and informed him that neither my previous landlord, or my current employer, had gotten any request of Verifications on behalf of Me. So I asked **** if any Verifications had been sent on my behalf. He got offended and stated yes. He then went on to ask me if I was trying to tell him that he was not doing his job. He got very upset and rude with me and said that he was waiting on Verification, when indeed they were never sent. I then told him that I just wanted a status of my application and apologized if he felt like I was trying to tell him to do his job so the call was then disconnected. An hour after I hung up from speaking with ****, I received a background check email. Which means he never originally sent any information or request for verification. On July 10, I called again to follow up on my application. I was told by **** that the owner of the unit that I apply to had declined my application because the owner was not comfortable with my application. I never received a decline email or any communication that my application was denied. I called today which is July 13 to ask for a refund of my application fee and I was rejected for my refund request. Again, I was told that my application was denied because the owner was uncomfortable. My denial had nothing to do with any verifications. I feel as though the $75 application fee should be refunded to me as I am being told my application for the rental property unit was denied due to the owner being uncomfortable, and not due to my verifications this, ******************* is not cooperating.
