I believe that Construction Dispute Resolution Services, LLC (CDRS) is nothing but a scam. I can certainly attest that I would not recommend CDRS. I was forced to use them by an incompetent small claims court judge. I had a home built in ******** by a company based in ******** that uses a company based in VA to administer a so-called extended warranty program. The ******** home builder company (in name only) uses the VA based **************** to cover the shoddy work of their subcontractors. The warranty company, the construction company, or in my case the law firm associated with CDRS uses CDRS to cover up the builders incompetence management. I was forced into having an arbitration meeting held at my house to determine whether or not a defect would be covered by the warranty company even though the warranty companys program specifically specifies the defect as not being covered by the warranty. Then to make the situation even more unbelievable is that the arbitrator assigned to arbitrate the situation has had a long time relationship with the construction companys law firm. Another interesting point is that I objected to the arbitrator because of his past association with the builders law firm since I felt it would be a conflict of interest. The president and CEO of CDRS ignored my concerns and told me it was his decision to use this arbitrator since he felt he could remain neutral. The arbitrator was supposed to know something about construction but I certainly question his knowledge. The arbitrator wouldnt even allow me to explain why the defect was a serious issue and what caused the defect. He wanted to merely look at it and deny the coverage based on what is written in the so-called extended warranty booklet. What a scam. I can tell you this concept of general contractors having no responsibility for the incompetence of their management team, having a so-called extended warranty program, and using a so-called arbitration hearing is an absolute fraud.

The homeowner was not able to understand that CDRS was retained to enforce the home warranty program. He would not accept what the warranty stated, he wanted his wishes understood.

Do not by any means work with this company. I was forced to use them for a home inspection arbitration. My home had almost $200k in structural, foundation, and water damage. My home inspector ignored several water stains on the ceiling that he even unintentionally captured in unrelated photos. He ignored cracks in the foundation and jammed doors- only recommending weather stripping. He missed that the entire house is sinking in the middle, columns holding up a 20 ft patio is crumbling, windows popping out and leaking because of the sinking foundation, a flat roof that was leaking on all 4 corners because it was practically super glued on, a baseball sized hole in the floor caused by a leaking door, a 17 year old cracked water heater that he claimed was 3 years old and working, a sink leak and land a washing machine that backs up, an entire missing glass door- the list goes on. Even with pages of evidence to support my claims, and a home inspector that could not provide a single photo to support his-the home inspector even admitted he had messed up terribly and offered in writing to pay for some of the damages even during the arbitration-this company STILL ignored all the evidence and fraudulently ruled with the inspector. In addition, claimed that the spent 50 hours working on a arbitration that took 8 hours- not only completely disregarding the law but also scamming me for an additional $5000 for work they never did. It took 36 hours to conclude that the inspector was there for 3 hours so he did his duty. That was literally their reasoning for ignoring mountains of evidence- even the inspectors own admittance. Do not go with this company or any business affiliated with this company.

Construction Dispute Resolution Services, LLC. (CDRS) and his arbitrator are biased against homeowners. A home inspector missed structural damage caused by a drain pipe under my home that cost me thousands of dollars to fix. I contacted CDRS, who reviewed my contract and took advantage of being a new home buyer with little experience. CDRS sold me on the pretense that I could use his company and arbitrators to hold the home inspector accountable to pay the thousands of dollars in damage for his blatant failure to note structural damage that he was required to inspect by law. In the end, CDRS found the home inspector liable for only $400 dollars (the home inspection cost). CDRS will lie to you to get you to pay the $750 to start the arbitration and hundreds of dollars for "further arbitration." To anyone reading this, stay away from this company. They will sell you lies and false hopes to get your money.

As in all arbitrations, at least one party or possibly both parties will be unhappy with the arbitration award. CDRS has a national reputation for "enforcing contracts or agreements as they are written". There was a clear limitation of liability for the Home Inspector specified in the agreement between the parties. ****************** was hoping that the arbitrator would not enforce that limitation provision which was not the case. The arbitrator enforced the provisions of the agreement.

CDRS, in their own words, just confirmed their misleading lies and biases against homeowners. CDRS stated, There was a clear limitation of liability for the Home Inspector specified in the agreement between the parties. I sent CDRS my Home Inspector Agreement which they reviewed before I paid them. CDRS knew that I could never get anything more than $400. Even knowing this, CDRS lied to me and pushed a false narrative that I could recoup the thousands of dollars in damage I had to pay. CDRS is biased against homeowners; they will sell you on lies and false hope for them to get at your money. Stay Away from this Company.
