I entered into a contract with K B Glass and window for a window to be installed, the window was to be a bronze aluminum 70 x 59 picture window the date was August 19, 2021. The total cost for the window was $1172.17. I paid $622.17 on August 19th 2021. The balance was to be paid which would be the labor materials and freight of $550, balance upon completion of installation my contract shows 4 to 6 weeks. I called them each month, And they indicated the window was not in, because of Covid shipping. Last month I finally called them and they told me I could get a refund, This was on August 8, 2022, she said it would take up to 30 days, as of this date I have not received any phone call or a check. I have a copy of my contract. Please advise.Customer response

I have been in contact just inquiring about the status of my installation and keep getting the run around. I was told initially it would take a week we are in about 4 weeks now and still no windows or any status updates. The person I call and text is always ignoring my calls she will text. It’s I haven’t got an update from the manufacturer gives me a number to call them myself if I want. Now it’s well I’m waiting to hear back from them but once I do you will be the first one I call. I know situations occur I’d would like my $250.00 back and just cancel but then I was told if they were already made I couldn’t cancel so I told her just please keep me updated. I really need the windows it’s to a primary residence. I just now read some reviews and there are some not so great complaints against them. Had I known I would have choose a different business.Business response

I have been in contact contact with the customer, even gave her the glass manufactures phone number so she can call and see that they stooped production to do inventory. This customer has agreed to have her windows installed when they come in next week.Customer response

I would just like to have my windows installed I understand situations come up but, this is my primary residence. I travel out of town weekly. If it wasn’t for my alarm system I would not feel safe. Please keep your word and time frame and update customers please.

I paid KB Glass $3900 in cash on 11/10/21 for windows. I was told it would be 10 weeks to be ordered and installed. In January I reached out to see why they hadn’t contacted me. They then told me it would be March. I contacted them again yesterday to see why they haven’t let me know anything. I was told that they still can’t tell me any estimate of when I’ll get my windows. So I am suspicious because I’ve read other reviews that they take your money and never provide service. So I asked if I could contact the manufacturer myself just to verify that the windows were in fact ordered. I was told no. So I asked to see the order showing the date that they paid the manufacturer for my order. I was told they would email me today. I received no email. I asked for a refund and was told no, that there is no refund on special orders. As you can see in the receipt, it does not state that there are no refunds. It also clearly states a 10 week lead time. I would like a refund because at this point I think that this company is not reputable and that they are using COVID as an excuse to steal money from old people like myself. You also might be interested in the fact that they asked me for cash so they wouldn’t have to pay gross receipts tax and could pass that savings on to me.Business response

**** ***** is a repeat customer. We have done work for her before on her windows. She did order windows from us during one of the worst times. Because of manufacturer delays and distributors not being able to supply certain materials she was informed that her windows were going to be taking longer than usual. After many rude contacts from **** via text messages and after she left our company an untrue review on Google, we are not going to do business with her. Her review on Google has already cost us lost jobs. We are in the process of canceling her windows to get her refund back. I wish that customers would not use review on the internet to hurt small businesses.We do excellent work and have been for 15 years.
