Just rec'd an invoice from Do-Right Roofing of Roswell NM. I NEVER requested NOR signed ANY contract to tarp over my skylites from hail damage. I ONLY requested their "FREE" estimate of roof damage. If this invoice is NOT completely rectified and completely removed, I will file in Small Claims court as soon as possible.

      Updated received 9/15/21

I received a call Monday morning, September 13th, 2021 from Do-Right Roofing, and spoke with a Mr. L*********, who was responding to my Friday VM to his company regarding the attached Invoice/Bill. He stated it was “”not a bill”” and I corrected him and told him the document most certainly indicated it was a bill. He said “”just to forget about it, we’ve been really busy here lately.”” He then stated “”Oh, I see it now, it’s the previous owners bill”” and I told them the owner was deceased and I was the new owner of the property.”” He responded with “”Don’t worry about it, it was their bill then!”” I responded that I wanted the invoice discharged and needed it to be in writing, because he could sell his business and then I could potentially have an outstanding invoice attached to my property, preventing or causing a delay in the sale of y property at some point in the future. Mr. L********* then said, “I’m not giving you ****!” and hung up on me. End of call.

Again, I did not sign a contract nor request the “tarping” of my skylights. I called on this company for free estimate and this is what I got (see enclosed) in the mail on Friday, September 10th, 2021. I did not accept their bid, as another bid came in lower. This invoice is totally unacceptable and I want, in writing, this invoice is to be completely discharged, so I don’t have any future issues with a bill from this company, ever. Indeed Do-Right Roofing, Inc. had the previous owner’s name on the invoice but the date is a current date and the person on the invoice died over 2.5 years ago.

Mr. L*********’s rude and expletive comments were totally uncalled for and unprofessional to say the least.

John took the invoice out of the computer the same day that the conversation happened. There is not longer an invoice for the tarp job. As a roofing company we will tarp broken skylights so there is no leaking. For that it is not a free job. In our company it is unethical to leave a sky light leaking. That is the reason for the tarping the skylights and the invoice. As asked we disregarded the invoice and there is no longer any charge. We have been supper busy and things have been hectic here at our company and we did not realize that we put it in the wrong name. Rest assure that there is no invoice in the old homeowners or the new homeowners name. We also apologize for any rude comments or conduct for that is not how we operate, we have been having a lot of rude people calling and we have no control over how quickly we can go or do a job, so sometimes tempers fly. We do apologize for any rudeness that you experienced.  We have taken care of the invoice which is the issue at hand, no money is owed for the tarp job.

      Re: BBB Complaint # *** *** **

      Dear BBB,
I am responding to Do-Right Roofing’s response to me, indicating the bill they issued to me has been completely withdrawn, as this was to be a free estimate and I did not contract nor request any tarping of my skylights.
The company’s defensive and descriptive rationale as to the tarping of my skylights as an ““ethical”” event and business practice seems to be more of what is known to the public as “Bait and Switch” an unethical practice warranting intervention by the BBB.

I consider this matter closed and want to thank the BBB for their timely support and communication.

      Sincerely,

      ******* *********
