I called to check and see first if Dr. M***** accepted Medicaid. The receptionist assured me yes we do so I came in this morning for my appointment. The receptionist took my insurance card and my drivers license then said everything is set up and l have your insurance we are good. Then I see Dr. M***** which he was very nice after that he gave me my eyeglass prescription the receptionist told me ok thank you bye. I then went to their optical after being checked out the receptionist and she pointed out the glasses that were covered by my Medicaid. I picked out a pair and during the process of getting my glasses ordered another woman came up asked the receptionist that helped me was my insurance all good, and she replied yes I checked everything is all taken and we are doing her glasses order now. Then the other woman is doing something on her computer and starts telling the other receptionist she is not covered on this and tells me you are going to owe us a hundred dollars. I was floored and said I called first and this receptionist checked me in completed the exam and now you are telling me you made an error? So I then asked, I went to another optometrist before and they never gave me a bill after the fact always before the visit? She said well she did it wrong and your not covered, the other optometrist probably billed medical and we are progressive. I then got upset and said this is bad business practices and I am contacting the BBB she told me to leave and never come back again so I left.
