  This construction company re-roofed my home and shop building in 03/2020. I was given a 10 year warranty, 04/2022 had a wind storm that took the edge piece off shop roof. Contacted construction company and was told not under warranty. They said they would fix it but would be a couple of months. Here is is 08/2023 and still waiting for them to fix. Have been told part was in just never come to put it on. When they roofed my house they subcontracted a gutter company to install new gutters. I have a leak in both the front and rear of my house which is causing damage. Not sure if leak if gutter related or roof related. I try to call company and there always is no answer and voice mail is full. Gutter company has been here but did not resolve the issue. Since construction company subcontracted the gutter company do not know name. Want the leaks fixed in house and shop building repaired.

  I am rejecting this response because: although Hoffman and Sons has reach out to me there has been no further communication regarding when the fix will be done.  I have a leak in one bathroom vent and leaks around front and back door gutters.  Would like to know when these repairs are going to be completed.  Was told by ***** over a year ago that he had already ordered the part for roof.  Please make arrangements as soon as possible to complete repairs.

  When my foreman showed up you were leaving!  We called your husband to say we had a screw in our tire and safety reasons it had to be replace and had to find that size of tire which we did.

  I called the man who you paid to install the Gutter and He said the trailer is out of level making it difficult to install your Gutter so when the torrential rain occurs that the overflow will leak onto porch and soffit.  Not my problem.

  This was Friday now you are complaining on Monday?  You will not let us come to fix your exterior roof without someone there?  We wanted to come last week but your Husband was out of town!

  I f you will allow my company to come without someone home ( We do not need to come into your house) to fix the problem.

  I am rejecting this response because: first of all you have me confused with someone else.   I am NOT married so therefore you could not have spoke to my husband. Yes your foreman showed up as I was fixing to leave but I stayed in order to accommodate him.  He was over 3 hours late from the scheduled time with nothing more than initial phone call. Second of all MY house is not out of level  plus I was given a warranty for no leaks which I have.  Your foreman was going to fix one of them then but did not have the equipment to do it.   This also was NOT on Friday like you said it was earlier in the week like on Tuesday  You have not communicated with me except on BBB.  I want this resolved and the work needs to be done when I am home so that I can ensure it is actually done.  Your foreman did indicate that the roof needed to be worked on to fix the problems. I have two houses that was roofed by your company and have problems and leaks with both.  You have my contact information you can communicate with me.  I would like this to be completed in a timely manner.

  Paid to have new roof/gutters put on the house in 2020. There was an issue with one of them and it was leaking water. The business was contacted right away and fought with them for 2 years to try to get them out to even look at it and/or fix it. Finally, about October of last year, I finally got them out to look at it. The guy who was contracted out to do the gutters said that the gutters were fine, and it was a roof problem. It has been yet another year of fighting with them, and still the roof remains unfixed. There is now damage to the saufit and a mold issue. Had to replace subfloor and carpet due to mold that had spread to flooring. There is also now slight sagging/ bowing in living room ceiling. The company continues to ignore my complaints/concerns. The roof is under warranty, and this is now 3 years of trying to get them out to fix an issue.

  We went to Her House and know was Home.  We will go back to see the problem.  This was a repair roof not new and it had damage the bathroom ceiling prior to our response.  Now owner wants to blame us for the pre-existing damage.

  I am rejecting this response because: no one has come to the house in several months.  That response from the company is 100% false.  I can provide text messages showing the companies lack of response to the roofing issue as well as all the calls i have made to the company. The company also stated in the response that it was an existing roof, not a new roof.  The issue with the roof started after the company installed the new metal roof.  The company also responded to this complaint mentioning a pre-existing problem in the bathroom... I did not mention anything about the bathroom ceiling in my complaint. The company needs to come fix this leaking roof issue.  Because it has taken them almost 3 years now- they need to pay for damages caused by the roof/ gutters not being done correctly.

  I sent a man to Her home and did not do any work as no one was Home.  Then Myself and three other men went over on Friday  the 25th and spoke to **** and said would come back "asked if we had permission to work on roof if no one is home" He said yes.  I believe this is Her husband?  I sent Men over the 26th and sealed the penetrations with a commercial roof coating. 

  We were hire to seal the roof not redo the roof as whom ever she had install it the first time had not installed it correctly, so we tried to fix the existing roof.

  We communicated with her Mother Previously to this complaint.  Also My foreman had series of chemo treatment and one toe removed and I was not aware until Her Mother called me personally.

  Had I known I could have responded quickly like once I spoke with Her Mother.

  PS The roof Leaked in Her bathroom before we Sealed the Roof and caused damage to the ceiling which we were told She would take care of.  It has been over two years without any problems or notifications.

  I am rejecting this response because:

  The company has me confused with someone else. I was physically home all day Friday the 25th. There is no one named **** or anything even close to that name at my home, and they could not have spoken to my husband because my husband was not home that day and there is no other man at my house. Also,  no one came out to the house to work on the roof on the 26th- i was also home all day that day as well. The company was hired to redo the roof,  not just seal.  The previous roof was shingles and this company installed a metal roof. There has been a problem since day 1 with the roof leaking.  The company was contacted about it within a month of them doing the roof.  It has been an almost 3 yr fight to them out there and get it fixed.  I am not complaining about the bathroom ceiling- as the company keeps trying to say.  There are no issues in the bathroom.  Also,  my mother was not contacted by the company.

  I am rejecting this response because:
  The problem is, water runs off the roof behind the gutters and it has damaged the soffitt. Due to the damaged soffitt, the soffitt is now completely crumbling and I now have a mold issue. ****** was made aware of the water leaking about a month after finishing the roof- that was 3 years ago.  I have been in contact with him several times and he keeps telling me something has come up and now 3 years later, there is damage due to the companies refusal to correct the problem in a timely manner. There was no damage to soffitt prior to this company putting on the new metal roof.

  Update 10022023: They came out a couple of days ago and said they did some work. However, the roof is still leaking in the same place. They said they would be back but that has not occurred. Also there is damage to the roof that they needs to addressed.

  The Person making the Complaint today told me not to come that the Weather was going to be Bad and no one would be Home.   I texted back and agreed to do it Thursday of Friday (according to her wishes),  She is not the Owner of the building or did she sign the contract.
  

  I Rebuke this person in the Mighty name of Jesus!

  Why tell me not to come when I spoke with the Real owner last week and scheduled for Monday and Get an Text from this person stating not to come, then sending a message to BBB.

  That's not right in God's Eyes nor mine.

  I do not want to deal with this person as she is not the Owner or She did not sign the Contractual agreement.

  Repairs/ work to be done include:
  Replace soffit,  gutter work,  drywall issue, caulking around vent on roof, water still getting around gutters and to soffit in various spots on the back of house.

  The Gutter man was there fixing his installment, and adding additional gutter guard onto gutter.

  Some Caulking may have shrunk so need to know where specifically.

  Need to have access to Dry wall area.

  Once Gutter man is compete and have some rain will make sure no leaks to fix interior when needed.

  I assumed the company would have contacted me about the drywall and arrange a time with me to have access to the drywall.  In the company's last response,  they stated the gutter man was here fixing his installment and adding additional guards- that is 100% incorrect. The gutter man came to the house,  looked at the gutters,  but no work was or has been done. The gutter man was subcontracted by the company,  they too should be on him to get this work completed in a timely manner. A ridiculous about of caulking was used, so it has cracked in to many places for me to list in a BBB response. The company has my phone number, so they could have connected me as well. They may also email me at *********************,  if that is more comfortable for them.

  I am rejecting this response because:

  As stated in the last response, there are still leaks in various spots. Also, the caulking was not completed around the vent on the roof. I was told by ***** that the roof was to short and needed to be made longer to drain properly to the gutters.  When i inquired about that,  Mr. Hoffman stated that had been repaired/ done. After having the roof inspected and seeing for myself, that was actually not done. Also, damage caused by water leaking still needs to be repaired being there is a warranty on the roof. Mr. Hoffman has my phone number and email address to contact me.

  I purchased a home 7/27/2020. Inspection showed problems with my roof, however there was a warranty with roof through HOFFMAN AND SONS CONSTRUCTION. Over the past 2.5 years they have come out to fix roof over and over and roof is still leaking. They sometimes don't show up, or show up 3 hours late. I have been given excuse after excuse, sometimes same excuse over and over. Now they say the roof is fixed but after saying that for the past 2.5 years, it's still not fixed. Owner *** ******* has been contacted by a lawyer I hired to get this job finished and he now refuses to respond to myself or my lawyer. I cannot get homeowners insurance until *** provides me with work orders saying exactly what was done to finally fix the roof. I need the following: New king size double pillow top mattress ruined by the leaks replaced. Hoffman and Sons to pay for professional inspection (inspector cannot be chosen by *** as he has lied to over and over). If the roof passes inspection I need work orders stating what was done on fixed roof. If it does not pass inspection I need Hoffman and Sons to pay for a different company to fix my roof as they have had over 2.5 years and at least 10 tries to fix. I have proof of everything via over 1000 text messages, emails and Steven on video saying what would be done that is still not done. One last note, during the inside of my home being fixed mold was found in 2 places. I would like to also be paid for a professional mold inspection.

  Her roof problem arrived an old Evaporated Cooler, which cause the decking
  to rot.  We repaired the roof, which we are not responsible for.
  We have done everything possible to help her, but at this point Ms. ***** *****

  I am rejecting this response because:
  
  I have already sent a copy of my warranty with my complaint and per my Lawyer it is a valid Warranty. *** ******* has known this for almost 3 years now. The roof leaking problem has been going on since August 2020. The entire house has had leaks in it and over almost 3 years Hoffman and Sons Construction has been at my house at least 20 times to try to fix different parts of the roof and the inside that was ruined. For example They have fixed my bedroom roof and ceiling at least 3 times, but can never seem to get it right. They have fixed my dinning room and office ceiling, walls and roof at least 4 times. I have over 1500 texts, and emails as proof.  I have hired a lawyer to assist me, but *** ******* just seems to want to go to court. I would prefer not to go to court.

  AS of 01/10/2023 they say the roof is fixed. As of that day I have asked for work orders stating what was done so I can get homeowners insurance. It's that simple. 

  After showing my warranty, they have tried to fix the roof, that was 2 years 9 months ago. Just 2 weeks ago *** started saying I have no warranty with them. I've asked for proof with no response.

  At this time I am rejecting Hoffman and Sons response as it is a lie. I now just need work orders, should be simple. Please just get me work orders and prove my attached warranty is invalid showing a contract or some form of proof.

  We provided a Guarantee to Mr. & Mrs. **** *********.  Once the house is sold the warranty does not exist.  We were told by ***** that her Son and Ex-husband had been on the roof and who knows whom else?

  The main problem she had was the A/C unit that was leaking because of the duct work rusted through and was leaking onto the ceiling.  She had several existing cracks on the walls and ceiling through out her home.

  We are not responsible for those but helped her and repaired her existing crack and repainted the walls and ceiling to help her out.

  It's a no.  At this time I am not going to have you come work on my roof, Per ***** Text.
  

  She even stated in her text messages that she did not want anyone to come over.  October 21, 4:38 pm 2021.

  WE have done our do diligence and more than fixed any problems and she was happy when Jed Ward Finished the inside for her home.

  She is asking for a warranty which was only the original owners, as stated above.

  I am rejecting this response because:
  The lead and owner of Hoffman and sons construction reviewed my warranty 2.9 years ago. They said it states "non transferable". I then sent copy of warranty to them to show it does NOT state that. They agreed, due to the warranty and it not stating "Non transferable" to honor the warranty. Not once did they ever say I have no warranty until I filed this complaint. That warranty is the only reason they did work on my roof. I have over 1500 texts, emails and videos from the last 2.9 years to prove everything.

  They say the roof leaked because of swamp cooler and family walking on roof. However, those things were only addressed in the last 12 months. The roof has been leaking for 2.9 years and they have addressed each leak as it came up. So, there's a lie.

  I asked them to not come to my house any longer because after 2 years of them "trying" to fix the roof, they just could not get the leaking to stop. At this time I had no choice but to hire an Attorney to ask them to 1) fix the entire roof, not just piece patching each leak, OR 2) We can go to court and request a judgment for Hoffman and sons to pay for an adequate co.pany to fix entire roof. Once my Attorney contacted them they choose #1. They took 3 months longer than their promised finished date. My Attorney and I gave them 2 extentions. 

  IF my leaking roof would have been correctly fixed in the beginning I would not have had to endure this hardship for 2.9 years. However, because they couldn't fix the roof, my house has leaked in dinning room, living room, laundry room, office room, 4th bedroom, my bedroom and the hallway. 4 areas were fixed to include inside work 3 times. For example, I couldn't use my bedroom for 9 months due to leaking, fixing leak,  fixing bedroom ceiling, then 2 more times they had to do it all over again. Due to the bedroom continued leaks over 9 months my king size pillow top mattress is now ruined.

  The inside painting, drywall, texturing etc was all done due to damage from the leaks, not out of the goodness of his heart. And yes, of course I was happy, 

  The owner just NOW says, after 2.9 years, I don't have a warranty. Another lie, My Attorney has confirmed 5/25/2023 that my warranty is valid and would hold up in a court of law.

  Furthermore  I am 100% sure that the owner would have NEVER done all this work with out a warranty.

  The owner and lead has lied to me over and over and has given at least 20 different "no show" excuses over the 2.9 years.  That is one reason its been drawn out for so long. NOW the owner is lying again to me and you the BBB. 

  I DO HAVE A VALID WARRANTY WHICH OWNER HAS HONERED. I am tired of him NOW saying I have no warranty. 

  I will state again,  I can prove all of the above. Owner keeps giving different excuses about how and why roof leaked, they are lies. 

  At this time I am asking for company to replace my ruined mattress, and because I keep having to get my Attorney involved I am now requesting company to also pay for my Attorney fees. 

  I have read many bad reviews that say exactly all the things I have gone through. Its a shame Hoffman and Sons Construction is still in business. My community deserves better.

  ON APRIL 16, SIGNED A CONTRACT WITH H****** & SONS TO REPLACE MY DAMGED ROOF WITH A NEW METAL ROOF. IT HAS NOW BEEN SIX MONTHS AND THREE FAILED INSPECTIONS A LEAKY ROOF AND DAMAGE TO MY HEATING SYSTEM. HE HAS A LOT OF REASONS FOR ALL THIS BUT AT THIS POINT I AM NOT COMFORTABLE HAVING HIM AT MY HOME. HE HAS TRIED TO SHAME ME AND MANIPULATE ME INTO ALLOWING THIS TO CONTINUE. WITH STATEMENTS LIKE, "PLEASE I'M BEGGING FOR YOUR MERCY AND FORGIVENESS PLEASE DON'T TAKE NO ACTION I WILL MAKE THIS RIGHT FOR YOU WE CAN WORK THIS OUT ANY GODLY MANNER AND GET THIS OFF RESOLVED.   We responded to *****'s roof quickly once we new what the problem was(sealant around the plentum, 5 additional screws and 5 pieces of bird stop sealers as per building inspector who talked with the owner and said everything passed on her roof.
