I was contacted by Crimson legal over the telephone at which time they offered to help me reduce my debts. They deducted over $360 per month from my checking account and claim to have paid six payments on a ***** Fargo account late in the game, but ***** Fargo does not show those payments. None of the other accounts were settled, the majority of my money went into their pockets for attorney fees, and other fees. There was only about $34 per month that went into an escrow account to pay my debts. This business is deceitful when explaining their business over the telephone.I will be 70 years old at the end of this month, live on Social Security, and cannot afford to have money taken from me, and applied in a manner that profits them, ***** their clients by further putting them in debt and damaging their credit record. I could have almost paid off the debts myself with the money that they took from me. I called them multiple times, and said that I believed it was against the law for them to take money before settling an account. I was told that because they are a Law Firm that they are permitted to do so. I dont know that this is really a legitimate Law Firm as I saw that Crimson legal is based out of the ********************. I have read a number of complaints very similar to mine. This seems to be their method of operation and it seems highly irregular.

We are writing to respond to the complaint of our former client **************************.We have made numerous attempts to reach agreeable resolutions with the client, but she has contested them and became extremely unresponsive. One of the customer service supervisors spoke to ******* in the beginning of December 2021 when she had brought up her concerns. After this the client became unresponsive until early January where the supervisor had another conversation with her and reviewed all of her concerns. The last communication with this client was on 1/13/22 where client made it clear she did not want to continue with Crimson Servicing. We honored her request and closed out her file at that time as she became difficult to speak with and was not interested in coming to a resolution. In the complaint the client states that ***** Fargo does not show that payments have been made. We actually made nine payments from January 2020 to August 2021 on her active settlement with ***** Fargo from her escrow account until it was defaulted due to lack of payments. We were also able to achieve a settlement with **** of America that we made three payments on before that settlement was defaulted as well due to the client stopping her program payments. We were unable to settle with two of her creditors because she was paying them directly. Client has been made aware of this multiple times and did not cooperate with program guidelines. In addition, client cancelled the program prematurely at month-16 out of 32. We reached settlements with two out of the four enrolled creditors. Through the lifetime of her program, we provided her with legal representation and reached settlements on half of the debts enrolled.  This has resulted in ******* saving money in principal debt and more importantly, in interest.

CONSUMERS BEWARESCAMELDER ABUSE*** violation Company advertised that debts are combined to 1 amount and paid in one single, smaller monthly amount to pay debt and that they reduce debt by a minimum of 40%. After 1 year of $362/month paid into my escrow account to pay settled debts and later fees; 1 card of 6 was settled. 1 credit card company with a $2500 balance sued me. The Group offered a settlement to me of $2000 and that i old have to pay an additional $150/month to pay the settlement?! Customers are to pay the agreed upon amount and nothing else. Frustrated with their poor legal result with the small card, asking for more money, and no progress on other cards, I asked for a detail of my account & researched other companies. The details of my account showed that 90% of the money submitted in escrow had been used up by legal fees. All 3 companies stated that taking fees prior to settlement of accounts is a violation of the 2010 *** law against upfront collection of fees. Its also told that i could cancel the contract and get refunded of most or all of the $362/month in escrow. I signed with another company and informed Crimson that i was cancelling the contract and wanted refund of escrow. To my horror, they said that only $344 was left after legal fees taken because they are a law firm and can take fees upfront. I quoted the *** law and was told that it didnt apply to them. I called my new firm and told them Crimson claimed that they could keep the fees and the money for the 1 card that they settled, leaving $344 left. They also said thst the $2500 balance card would require an additional $20/month to pay the settlement. So, in summary, this group of thieves take their fee for all debts up front and then begin to settle with creditors; and each card that is settled will require additional money each month to put into escrow to pay settled cards. Complaints sent to *** and AARP. Am a disabled senior citizen.

We are writing to respond to the complaint of our former client ***************************. We made numerous attempts to reach agreeable resolutions with her but she has contested them. Both customer service supervisors spoke to ******* in early February following her cancellation. The last contact made with her was on February 8th 2023 by the department manager on a recorded line (uploaded on her file). On this conversation, she reviewed the progress of her program during time of enrollment and even offered an additional refund from the service fees collected since client was dissatisfied with services. ******* was unreasonable at first and wanted more money back, however in the end of the call she said she would consider this amount. We followed up with her the following day on February 9th 2023 with the mutual release and settlement agreement. She was instructed to sign and notarize the agreement so we can issue her this refund. She did not and never followed up with us. We also sent this via certified mail to her home which was delivered on February 15th, 2023. She still has not contacted us.During the phone call with ******* on 2/8/23, she questioned her escrow funds and claimed she did not receive it. She was encouraged to contact her trust account provider directly in the event funds were not located in her bank account. She was cancelled out of our program on January 30th, 2023 and we advised her to wait up to 7 business days for her escrow funds.
Further, ******* is not being truthful stating she was not made aware of the settlement payments made towards both settlements we reached with her ***** Fargo and *********** accounts. Her account managers reviewed this with her on numerous occasions and so did the supervisors on their escalated call. ******* even requested a copy of her settlement letters and a detailed payment ledger listing all itemized fees. This was sent to her as requested.
*************************** is not acting in good faith. She opted to cancel the program prematurely (month 14 out of 43). We reached settlements with 2 of her creditors during her time of enrollment. We offered to give her back service fees collected from the accounts we did not settle in those 14-months. We even advised her to contact the two creditors and continue paying on those settlements outside the program to further increase her savings. Nothing was good enough. She threatened Crimson with negative publicity, legal action, and is slandering us with the *** with no grounds since we are not in violation. We have fulfilled our contractual obligation to this client and we will cease attempting contact for a resolution since she has proven that to be impossible.

i enrolled in the debt relief program they had. Paid rediculous amounts of fees and supposedly they would pay off my bills. Fast forward 3 years later and they still had 3 big debts to settle even though I was paying a very large sum of money per month. I withdrew from the program a month early since there still was no resolution in sight. and asked to have all settlement and pay off correspondence sent to me. What they sent me was a copy of a cover page for a fax and printout from a portal of payments made but with no general information on where exactly every penny went to each payment. I have repeatedly asked for this and they keep sending the same information that makes absolutely no sense whatsover. You would think since this is their business they would have all these documents. they also sent me a small amount of money which doesnt add up to the amounts of money that i paid in and what they paid out and doesnt match on their .spreadsheet really think this is a scam
