I used to believe this was one of the best veterinary hospitals in **********. I was dead wrong. 3 years ago when I first got my 2 ferrets they started having diarrhea and vomiting. It was suspected that they had helicobactor. ************ was tested and came back positive for helicobactor and coronavirus (ece). I had positive confirmation from one of the best places I could bring my girls so that must be it. I treated them for helicobactor and ece for the past 3 years. They have had many long days at north start as well as overnights. One of those overnights ********* started biting and ever since will bite anyone who is not me. I shouldve taken that as the first sign that something is wrong here. I didnt and brought them there for nearly every problem until I recently moved to *******.Recently ********* had surgery for a blockage (hairball). Surgery went well and she was healing properly then suddenly she was having problems using the bathroom. She was in obvious distress and discomfort. I brought her to the vet who suggested a helicobactor test. The biopsy came directly from her stomach. She does not have helicobactor.A week later ***** is now vomiting, having diarrhea and trouble going to the bathroom. They both were tested at that point for 4 different GI diseases including helicobactor and coronavirus (ece). Neither of them have either of the diseases in which I have been treating them for 3 years. As you can see by ****************** email that these are life long diseases with no known cure.I emailed north start the records they requested and was told **************** said they could not be virally shedding at this time and got the negative results. This place is a scam. Ive not heard back from them after receiving two attachments explaining the two diseases my ferrets dont Before these girls I had two boy ferrets. Both euthanized by north start vets.Review from Stacey C

Agreed! Money hungry. NorthStar in ************ will never be revisited by myself or any friends/family. My daughters ****** was sent home only to have him rushed back, and stayed 4 days due to an illness that they didnt detect. Hmm. Most recently I brought my yorkie to them, only to be sent home. Pnut was violently vomiting, they sent us home. $600 later. The next day, thank god for my niece who works for our local veterinary clinic, Pnut was put on 4 different medications. He has pancreatitis and pneumonia due to aspiration of his vomit. My niece saved our dogs life NOT NorthStar. It was well worth paying a second $600 to save him. NorthStar made an easy $600 for absolutely NOTHING. Stay clear of northstar.Review from Sharon K

I think they are money hungry and not empathetic for what pet parents are going through all but a few employees. I was there 4 times in one week because my ********************* was seriously ill. They gave him fluids the first time took him home for he only got worse. Then he went back after being at our vet and they suggested an ultrasound to only find out my dog **** had a liver mass that was bleeding into his stomach. I took my baby home to see if the medicine they gave him would work. The sad thing was every time I went there they asked me if I been there before and I said yes this is my 3rd time and then my baby turned for the worst and could barely move and I knew I didnt want him to suffer so I had to put him to sleep and the only thing the manager cared about was signing papers to make sure they get paid and I had already been there 3 times before. We were hysterical my whole family was there and they just cared about money. I will never go there again my pup is gone and I am lost without him.NorthStar VETS Response

We are so very sorry for your loss. I am very sorry that your impression was that we only care about the money. The staff truly do care about their patients. We wish you and your family the best.Review from Heather P

This practice is terrible and insanely overpriced. My dad brought my dog **** in because she has a patch of hair loss that is slowly growing. My dad was told that it could be due to rabies vaccination and this can be a common side effect for smaller dogs after receiving the vaccination. They did no tests and I was charged around $200 for them to tell him a biopsy could be preformed if he wanted for over $1000. No treatment was recommended and they are a disgrace. I would never recommend them to anyone and I am truly upset with my experienceReview from ff V

I would never come here again and I strongly recommend everyone to stay away from the hospital. Took my dog in here after he was bitten by a pit bull. They gave him stitches two drains and some medicine. I came in 3 days later to get his drains removed but they only ended up taking out one. Next day the drain they left had yellow discharge coming out of it and a foul smell. Went in and they said he had an infection they sent me home with antibiotics and a culture exam that they were going to do. A couple of days later I noticed a piece of skin that fell off and another one on the backside leg I went in again and they said it would be okay and to just leave it alone. They even recommended me to start going to my normal vet. It was getting worse over time and now my dog has skin falling off everywhere. My dog is dying I would never come here again. Please stay away from this place that they call a hospital.NorthStar VETS Response

I took my Pekinese, *****, to Northstar Vet in ************, where I had to make the agonizing choice between surgery to try to save ****** eye and surgery to remove it. ******************** told me removal was the better choice. Immediately after I agreed to have the eye removed, I was required to sign an estimate before they would proceed. The amount of the estimate was over $4000. The next day I realized I had been grossly overcharged. Channel 6 action News Troubleshooters agreed and aired the story, noting I was charged over $2000 above the average fee charged by any any other vet. The hospitals response was that if I had l questioned the amount of the fee while I was still crying on the exam room floor and rocking ***** in my arms, THEY WOULD HAVE SUGGESTED I GO TO MY REGULAR VET OR WOULD HAVE LOWERED THE COST OF THE PROCEDURE!! I would never return to this facility and I wanted to let you know to be on guard for their unconscionable and morally repugnant billing practices.NorthStar VETS Response

This client has not been to our facility since August 2022. She already filed a complaint and we responded. Her details of what occurred are not true. Our doctor saved her pet, money never came up until days after she left. She is not welcome back to our hospital, which she has been told numerous times, even though she tries to.Review from Christine M.

I am so heartbroken that I chose Northstar vet Robbinsville to bring my loving pup. The employees there have no compassion except for the receptionist. We knew our girl had to be put down. Weve been through it before with our one pup. But we brought him to Foxmoore animal hospital which is where I wanted to bring Juicy but they were closed. They were so full of compassion and showed such love for our pets. This girl tech from Northstar aggressively took Juicy from my daughters arms and juicy cried out in pain. My daughters stood in the hall listening to those cries and then listened to her whimpers until she whimpered no more. Thats when the vet came in and said we have to do this fast, her heart rate is low and minutes later walked in with our pup and said sorry she passed on her own. We were devastated she passed without us and had to die in the presence of these cold uncaring people. This job is for compassionate people and if you do not have the heart for it then get another job. This place needs to hire people with compassion and experience especially in that area. Our pups are part of our family. If your employees cant show them the respect and compassion they deserve then I hold the owners of this place responsible for not hiring responsible professionals.NorthStar VETS Response

I am so very sorry for your loss. We all here at NorthStar do know how difficult it is to lose a pet. Our staff would not be here unless they did care, that is why they have chosen this career. I am sorry if the empathy and compassion was not evident, I do know they all truly care. We wish you and your family the best.Sincerely,***********************Customer Response

Saturday they obviously did not care. RIGHT BEFORE they brought my pup to me and said she passed on her own they came in to take my **** card and had me pay for her to be euthanized. Is that compassion? As we were so distraught that we were about to loose a part of our family your staff comes in and asks us to pay ahead of time? Never have I paid for services before the services were rendered. Especially something so heart wrenching as this. I feel my pup had already passed from your techs roughness with her and her heart just could not take it and they wanted to make sure they were paid. I was not going to bring that part of it up because that was not my concern at the time. So since my pup passed on her own then your services that I paid for were not rendered. As I was searching out your business complaints I want you to know an organization started a petition about North Stars animal cruelty. If your staff had showed us compassion Inwould have accepted what happened to our pup.Review from Carol G

Our Dog was treated by North Star I. Maple shade they diagnosed him with some type of tick disease. They said it wasn't Lyme's. They gave us antibiotics and pain medicine for him and they said within twenty four to forty eight hours he would be back to normal we told them he has not been eating or drinking and he can't seem to walk on his right front paw and his back right leg. He is only 10 months old. Well that was on a Thursday. He did make any improvements form the medicine. So I called North Star in Maple shade and told them. Thei was Saturday Oct. 8. They advised me to take him to there other facilitiy in *********** **. We took him there and the nurse came out to get his vitals. Then she said it will be a little wait. We got there at 3:40pm. I saw other patients coming in and being taken back before us. I asked how much longer they said well you arrived here at 3:40 it's now six and bc you arrived late you have six people ahead of you I asked why were other being brought back they didn't look like they were in need of immediate medical attention. She say they had appointments. Well if you are an emergency facility why do you take appointments over emergency.??? Her answer was well that is the way it is. We finally get taken back and waited another twenty min till the doc came in. North Star in Maple shade said they would call them and send his records. Well the doc said not all his records came through. So again I explained what is going on with my German Shepherd. He has not had anything to eat for a week we gave him eggs and I told her I was having a hard time getting him to take his medicine. He refuses treats and won't take the pain medicine. So she give him a shot of methodoine so they can ex ray him. We sit and wait another half hour just to have him exrayed. She said the exray shows some type of bone issues that ********* get. To keep him was very costly. She said it could be this or that. So we left after waiting for seven hours the worst place everReview from Annette E

I believe NorthStar Vets is an ******************. A few years ago I Adopted a sick ferret with a chronic illness made many trips to the emergency room. If the triage nurse felt my pet needed immediate care they took him in right away if not I had to wait my turn. I also own a mini dachshund who recently had back surgery by the neurologist at NorthStar vets.. in my opinion, you couldnt get better care. Yeah one or two people at the front desk are not the friendliest but that happens anywhere you go. The doctors there have many years of experience. People come from all over because its a ************** with excellent doctors! Just wanted to share this with anyone who needs help for there animal.NorthStar VETS Response

They should be shut down. NSV is the worst. We were told that our account was blocked because my husband waited 4 hrs last time we were there. He called repeatedly and the they didn't answer the phone. He had to leave to go to work. So essentially they would not see us. Said we should go to Jersey Shore. What ******** runs an emergency vet facility with no triage staff and one Doctor. To refuse an animal that can't speak is a disgrace. They should be shut down, I will not let this go ??
