I purchased a **** Abarth from Easy Credit on September 15, 2021. Five days after driving the car home, the check engine light was on. Three separate mechanics examined the car and declared it unserviceable with the warranty because the problem ( a whole new engine) was so severe it must have come from the dealer and suggested I contact him. When I called Easy Credit to explain the situation, they said they had inspected the car and suggested I try to find a different mechanic who could provide a cheaper repair. I was never provided with proof of a mechanical inspection from them at time of purchase or when I confronted them with the issues.Since the problem occurred within 30 days of purchase, the car is covered by the used car lemon law and I would like a full refund of $20963 and to return the vehicle which is sitting outside my building. The mechanics at ***************** who worked on the car initially, found one of four cylinders not working. Once they cleaned the engine and replaced the spark plugs, the car slowly lost all power. He said that parts inside the engine had been replaced with racing components and the head gasket was cracked which I was never been notified of when purchasing the car. He recommended I go to the dealership because he was unable to compete any repairs for such a serious issue. The Danbury **** dealership test drove the car and reported it broke down completely and the entire engine would need to be replaced for almost $13000. He recommended I contact the dealer because it was certainly an issue that came from him. When Easy Credit recommended replacing a used engine, I got a third opinion.Auto tech of Danbury inspected the car and found that since the origin of the problem was from a previous owner, my service warranty would not cover the repair.
