I purchased a preowned certified 2018 Equinox Chevrolet from Malouf Chevrolet on December 10, 2019. I had the vehicle serviced as required at their service centers. Recently the indicator lights on my dashboard started going crazy and the vehicle felt like it was going to shut down. I live in ********** and work in Verona, **. I took the car to the Malouf ************** and they charged me $200.00 to do a diagnostic. The results showed that spark plugs needed to be replaced. That the car was misfiring. On the list of diagnosis the check engine failed, ABS failed and it stated it needed a fuel injector. I told them I would drop off the car back to be serviced the next morning so I could arrange to use a family member's car. The next day I barely made it to my parent's home to get my father's car and have him drop the car off. My father took it to his Mercedes mechanic who ran a diagnostic on my car. He said I should take it back to the dealership because the engine is shot and the car is too new to be having this problem. I immediately began making telephone calls to Chevrolet, the service center, BBB and the lemon law department. A week in a half before the engine began acting up the transmission was acting up. I have had my vehicle for just 5 years. I have followed all the service maintenance protocol. It should not be in need of a new transmission and engine. I am paying into a vehicle that has fallen apart and Chevrolet is passing the buck between their two service centers. I take it to which ever one has an open appointment. They work together and are across the street from one another. Either they can reimburse me my costs, replace my engine or offer me another vehicle minus the cost of the lemon vehicle. Thank you.Business response
