I wrote four books over the past 2 years and published with Matchstick Literary. Big mistake! I was duped into many "investments" in my books in marketing and sales. In all, I spent over $40,000, and got next to nothing in return. The last straw came when their agent wanted me to invest $7000 to have my books shown in international bookshows. He claimed their company ************************************** would invest $31,000 of their own money in my project. They had used that ploy in the past where they said they would invest their own funds if I would kick in up to $10,000. When I flat refused to contribute to this last ploy they fired the agent I had been working with, ostensibly because he had "abused me." I had negotiated a refund contract with him that said if my books are not icked up by an established publisher within one year (of May 26, 2021), I would be refunded the $10,000 that I had invested in that effort. It turns out that's why they fired him - he had failed to deliver my money on the bookshows project.Now they tell me everything that agent had agreed to was null and void, and have no intention of refunding my money, or even doing anything mre to romote my books, UNLESS I PAY FOR IT!
