CarelonRX would rather their customers die then receive the medications they need. I do prior authorizations 40 hours a week for the last 20 years and they are by far the most incompetent and least caring insurance I have ever delt with. The "MD Medical Director" will tell you a patient has to try this medication and this medication before we can give you what your provider wants and even when we send in notes and studies of why a patient CAN NOT take the preferred medications (like a drug interaction or contraindication) they wait a month to respond just to say the same thing, that they have to try the medication that could kill them first. THANKFULLY they put their name, title and license number on the rejections now, so we know who to report, for lack of clinical knowledge and inappropriate clinical calls, specifically on top of reporting the whole company. I encourage people to talk to their human resource departments about their experience with their insurance company and even find others online with the same issues and the same companies...class action lawsuits go a long way. Look into First Party Bad Faith practice laws for your state and keep advocating for yourselves!

Absolutely Horrible experience! I would give them 5 Negative Stars if I could. There is also not enough space here for me to rant about this mail order service that ****** has partnered with, but I refuse to use them anymore. I figure that my husband and I have spent DAYS on the phone with Carelon over the last 2 years, with a multitude of issues. We have literally paid for their screw-*** because if your doctor sends in a script, they will fill it and when they send something to you, even by accident, you will pay. And then they will re-fill it, and you - pay. When you try to get help, you will discover that the incompetence (and sometimes outright rudeness) of their customer service is astounding. Back in April 2025, we told a representative at ******* to not only Cancel a prescription, but that we didn't want to receive ANY more prescriptions from them. Then today, we just got a refill that we didn't request, along with a bill. We just got off the phone about it and were told that CANCELLING a prescription is different than DEACTIVATING it and that we received this refill because we hadn't used the correct term back in April. (What part of "we don't want Any prescription meds from Carelon" did the representative not get?) Believe me, and to be very clear, we have now "deactivated" everything we possibly could! ******* claims it has a Duty to fill these prescriptions, while they rake patients over the coals.

Wish I could leave a 0 star review. My doctor sent a 90 day Rx to them. They sent me 60 days. My copay on this med is $50 - so I paid $50 for 60 days, that's money out of my pocket and into theirs. When I contacted them about this (twice - each time taking at LEAST 2 hours, today was actually three hours) they told me my doctor didn't prescribe correctly. My doctor has a digital receipt of the request that clearly said he was prescribing a 90 day supply. The drug is an injection pen that lasts one month. He wrote the the script for the item - taken once weekly and that item was a certain mL. They said they could only fill the one month and out of a courtesy they sent me the refill for it as well but it only had ONE refill so they could only send me a 60 day supply. They told me my doctor will have to resend a prescription and to multiply the one month dose by three and they could go ahead and fill that Rx, too. I would get my 90 days supply for another $50 copay. They make you discuss your issue with a pharmacist. I had to speak to 3-4 representatives each time I started a chat BEFORE I was connected to a pharmacist and had to wait over an HOUR for the pharmacist to come on the line (I bailed the first time I called today after I was in cue for 45 minutes and heard NOTHING).WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER! Avoid them if you can.I am currently researching if I can transfer all of my prescriptions to a different pharmacy.

They are absolutely incompetent, don't care about patients, and overrule doctor's written Rx's to give you whatever quantity they want.

Was contacted via email in regards to a data entry clerk for the company. Had to answer questions via zoom chat on6//9 /25. Was told to have an interview with Dr. **** ****** via zoom. The interview lasted over an hour. he asked me a bunch of questions. How would I be a good fit and if I was OK with $40 an hour pay that it was a ***************************************************************************************************** to fill out my information. Then he asked me to go on the website of ******** and do an overview of what the company is all about and what I will be doing. Then he had said that he will give me a check for me to go and purchase a brand new computer, a phone, a brand, new printer and for me after I purchased these items I cant keep 10% for the trouble he said I told him that I did not need to purchase any items that my equipment was very good and he did not say anything. Then he had another person contact me via email saying congratulations and that I had to fill out all the paperwork before the morning. I did not feel easy going out and purchasing these items with a check.

I only used this pharmacy because my insurance required them. I had to get the NYC attorney general involved because they refused to provide gender affirming care. This is illegal both in the state of ******** and on the Federal level. They knew this. I provided them with the laws. I spoke directly with pharmacists, directors, and patient care coordinators. They refused to provide any documentation of this policy. They called me MONTHS later telling me that they will now provide me with my medication because they received multiple lawsuits. I told them to delete any documentation of me because I have no reason to believe they wont break HIPAA any chance they get.

After 7-8 calls just to get the meds, they sent them to the wrong address. I chased them for two weeks, called both them the doctors and ***** and only then did they realize their mistake. They resent the meds - never arrived within the time they promised, I eventually gave up. Four months later, the wrong meds showed up, and I was charged for those and for the correct meds that I never received. They refunded the first charge but not the second. The entire process was clueless - like speaking to robots. I escalated to a 'supervisor' and asked a simple yes/no question four times, each of his answers got more ridiculous and made less sense. Now they refuse to refund and are threatening collections over a $20 copay for meds I never even received. Absolutely senseless company **********
