    In late spring of 2024, I launched a small local fitness community in California, selling memberships through RunSignUp. As our season took off, we noticed that our members were being charged varying prices by RunSignUp due to "processing fees and taxes," which looked different for nearly every purchaser, even when memberships were purchased on the same day. We lost money and members due to this, and eventually, an accountant in our community informed us that, at the very least, RunSignUp should not be taxing us due to a law that exempts memberships from sales tax.

    As our season ended and we went to launch the new season, we noticed that members joining for the next season were being charged even more than before, though our prices had not changed! What is odd, too, is that RunSignUp no longer charged them sales tax, though. I contacted RunSignUp, and they said that they could not figure out why all 40-some-odd members had been charged varying fees, and they agreed that none of them should have been taxed. When I asked if they would refund our members the taxes, since this was their mistake, they declined. When I asked them how they would make this right, when they wrongfully extracted funds and unevenly charged our members, causing our club to lose money, members, integrity, and trust, they told us that the only option they could give us was for US to refund all 40-plus members out of our own bank account (as a new business, too, mind you, effectively ending our club), and then asking them to re-register, sans the sales tax, for a season that is well underway now and coming to an end in a month.

    I am severely disappointed with RunSignUp and baffled that they, a huge company, would require a client (us) to compensate our members for their mistake. I am writing this review to let people know that RunSignUp's membership platform is irresponsibly flawed and also in hopes of a just resolution for our members.

    Never used this business for any products / services / sign up or other. Credit card was somehow billed without a purchase or consent.

    Hi ****,

    I am so sorry for the late reply to your complaint. The notice was mishandled and we missed it.  Can you let me know if this issue was resolved for you?  I only see one charge under your email and that was in March of 2019 in the amount of $97.65.  It's possible there could be something I'm not seeing if it's not linked to this email. Please feel free to reach out to me directly. Generally when charges are not recognized we hear from directly through our support team and we are able to address the issue in minutes.

    I signed up for the *********** triathlon and it was canceled. They said they would refund money once they send out an email with a process to do so they never sent an email with the process to do so and when I emailed them their current email address was not in service, I paid around $130 for a race that never happened and was never refunded. I am not alone this happened to number of people I know personally.

    We have received complaint #******** from your office. We believe this complaint has been mis-applied to our business.  We are a software company that has a website that races use to manage their registrations. 

    We do not own or manage any races.  We do not control the scheduling of the races, the quality of the races or the refund policy of the races.

    *************** registered for a race and signed a contract with the management of the *********** Triathlon as part of that registration. *************** sent an email with instructions to apply for a refund within an alloted time. *************** did not respond and was not refunded.  I believe the race has now issued a refund despite the missed deadline.

    I signed up for the ******** Senior Games on 8/19/22. The total was $129.32.Due to a family situation, I will be unable to attend and emailed ** senior games for a refund before the event. I was informed there are no refunds for cancellations.This is a large amount of money for the organization to keep. I was not offered even a partial refund.I would like a full refund of $129.32.
