It has been an ABSOLUTE HORRIFIC NIGHTMARE dealing with Dave Englishman!!! DO NOT BE HIS NEXT VICTIM.DO NOT TRUST HIM. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH HIM AND GIVE HIM A DEPOSIT, HE TRAPS YOU IN THE CONTRACT. He is a liar, deceiver, awful, rude, argumentative, does not return calls, and has no integrity in his work. This is what you get for hiring the cheapest guy. We should have paid extra and retained a legitimate driveway company to do the driveway. We gave him half deposit for the project. He dug up half of our driveway, called the next day, and asked for more money for the dumpster. I rebutted his scam to attempt to lure more money from me. He comes and works for a couple of hours and takes a nap in the truck for two hours. He spread one load of gravel on our driveway, but it is not sufficient. My driveway looks like dirt. I have mentioned this to him several times, but he continued to ignore my concern. I have called him several times to move his outdated backhoe, which has been parked on our driveway for two weeks. Week after week, he said he will move it, but he hasn't. He left me no option but to contact Midland Park police. They said they have had MANY complaints about him. DO NOT USE THIS DECEIVER, DISHONEST AND UNPROFESSIONAL MAN!Initial Complaint

On august 3, 2021 I signed a contract with Englishman Paving Specialists, LLC. I paid check #*** for $2,400. It was cashed on August 19. ***** Englishman and I had a verbal and text agreement to start the work on September 13th. On September 3, I contacted ***** to confirm the start date and he indicated that he was late and did not respond with a date. I left him voice mail on his work and cell phone—along with text and waited patiently until September 16 and again asked when he would start work. He responded in a week or so. On September 17 I left him more messages and it seems he has a poor record of responding because his voice mail was full and this was not the first time I experienced this. I continued to attempt to reach ***** every few days and finally received response that he would start October 22. On October 22 he finally showed up with one other person and removed the 2 driveways. I asked him how many days it would take to complete the driveway. He told me he would be done that day. He then stopped work and said he had to go and would be back. When he returned around 430pm I didn’t see that he brought asphalt and when I asked how he can complete he laughed and said another week. I was shocked and reminded him what he told me and he ignored me and somehow got insulted by my question. He then left for the day and returned the next day to put down some gravel. I then asked him again to tell me when the job would be completed and reminded him that other companies usually get the job done in one day and not sure why it would take him a week. He didn’t acknowledge but said in a week. A week went by and no response so again attempted contact numerous times and finally on October 25 he said one day next week. It is now 2 weeks and I have no idea when he may come. He is a very poor communicator and he does not explain anything and does not live up to commitments. Looking for BBB’s help to negotiate on my behalf before further action
