I hired Imperial Roofing to replace exterior molding on my roof and replace my roof. Seven months later the work is uncompleted. The molding isn't done. The roof leaks. They never finished painting. Dozens of emails and texts later, I'm left with no recourse. Hoping BBB can assist. Otherwise I'll be headed to small claims court.Business response

Hello,
Yes, Imperial was hired to replace a roofing system at ********************** residence which involved some fabrication of the crown molding at the front of his home. Please note this property is in a historic district of ***********. When working in these areas we have to take specific steps and acquire different approvals from historic, zoning and the building department. We did have an onsite meeting with *** W from historic (which ****************** did not attend) where *** explained the need to keep the authenticity of the property. He stated we had to have the crown molding fabricated to the exact wood, shape and style as the original.
Originally we did have a fabricator on hand who was going to take care of the molding for us but he fell sick and was later disgnosised with Parkinsons disease and had to stop working due to his health issues. All of which ****************** was made aware of. Since then it has been a difficult time trying to find another fabricator. Due to Covid many contractors are closed, making it very hard to locate someone. I have even tried out of state and still no luck. All has been explained to ******************.
I even had another customer with a similar situation, (not in historic) but he and his wife wanted to keep the authentic look on their home. They took it upon themselves and started helping me look for fabricators and when they saw how difficult it was to locate someone they decided to go another route and finalize their project. Unfortunately the same can not be done at ********************** due to the fact that he is in a hisrotic area.
Please note we are doing the best we can to finish this project. We want this finalized just as much as ****************** does.
