Purchased the car and had issues driving home. Called dealership and emailed. Got a response a few days later. Car overheated (dead cooling fan) on day 3 of ownership. Had to have it towed to shop. Repair cost $500. Contacted dealership again about some type of refund. 2 weeks into ownership the break lines are found to be rusted out. Replaced with oil change (barely any oil in car) at another $500. Engine light comes on in early June. Transmission issues. Car needs a new transmission.

      Dear April,

************************* purchased an AS IS vehicle upon purchase he was asked if he would like to purchase an aftermarket warranty which he declined signed on multiple sheets of paper. Even though ****** purchased an AS IS vehicle we offered him to send over an estimate for repairs that were possibly needed. According to ****** it needed a fan our vehicles are also driven a distance and we top off all fluids before sale of any vehicle we do not have a service facility but we offered to help extend our cost on repairs at a discounted rate which he declined that we reccomend. Unfortunately we can never predict failure on any used 10 plus year old car but try to help out our customers on an as is purchase. As per our policy and paperwork which we can send over if necessary we do not have a return or refund policy in place.

I am rejecting this response because:  I had to have the car towed (at my expense) to my local shop.  They repaired the vehicle.  I asked the dealership to cover some of the costs based on the work done.  They declined.  The stance taken, and comment of selling "as is" cars is a joke.  The car did not make it 1 hour without a problem.  I alerted the dealer immediately.  The car had a major failure within 48 hours.  Again, I alerted them immediately.  This dealer has a reputation online, for selling garbage and hiding behind the "as is" verbiage.  They should lose their license for the scams they are pulling on customers.  When I say scams, I know the implications and fully believe this dealer knowingly sells troubled cars and hides the details from customers.

      Regards,

The two complaints id ******** and this one id ******** being sent over is not even from the purchasing customer. The purchasing customer was offered an extended warranty at the time of purchase and declined to purchase it as is. Unfortunately, we can never predict failure on any mechanical vehicle, nor would anyone portray any used vehicle of its age and mileage be represented as (perfect). Trying to help the purchasing customer out even though they did not purchase any warranty we asked for an estimate for what possibly *** be wrong with the vehicle and were going to help extend our cost for possible repairs that the vehicle possibly *** need at a discounted rate and informed the customer to contact Nissan directly for possible recalls that *** be open with the vehicle. The customer and other family members just made demands of what they wanted and after threats and continual irate phone calls of trying to help the customer along with our protocol we are no longer interested in helping out with there as is purchase.

We reached out last weekend to put a deposit down on a vehicle prior to traveling to ** from *******, and that according to very inaccurate pictures and the words of the staff at this dealership was in "great condition" and "drove very well".....that was most certainly a mistake. Prior to placing our $1000 deposit, we asked for more pictures of the vehicle and were essentially told no because there were "tons of pictures of the car already on our site." We were also informed over the phone before making our trip that we'd be able to take the vehicle to a mechanic (of our choice) for a pre-purchase inspection. Upon arriving at the dealership, we were rudely told that we could NOT take the vehicle to a facility that we'd chosen because it was "too far away" even though it was a 20 minute drive away. Now we go outside and take a look at the car....apparently our definitions of "great condition" are very different as the car looked nothing like it did in their pictures online.

As per our conversation with Mr.  ******** we went over our full procedure of paperwork and informed him multiple times that a deposit was non refundable and always make that clear before we send over any paperwork which Mr.  Gilstrap was aware of prior to making the trip. We do have 40 plus detailed pictures of each vehicle online to depict the condition of our vehicles so that there is no surprises when a customer comes. No used car is ever advertised in great condition especially a 21 year old model. Mr. Gilstrap was also told that he could find any mechanic of his choice within our local vicinity and not 20 mins plus away due to us having a small staff and we have to take the vehicle because of insurance purposes but declined because he didn't like the vehicle when he seen it. As Furnished with his paperwork that was signed all deposits are non refundable. We would love to sell him a car.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The pictures displayed online were not representative of the vehicle and when asked for more pictures prior to make the 12 hour trip, were effectively told no.

This business is most certainly a scam and anyone should stay away. I’m still requesting the $1k back for the deposit on the vehicle.
