      I had a flexible spending account (both medical and transit) through my work with Clarity Benefit Solutions. I lost my job and still had balances in both of the accounts. My ********************** debit card stopped working after I lost the job, but I never received any notice of any deadline to submit reimbursements. When I called them, they said I had needed to submit reimbursement requests within one month (which again I was never notified of), so I was too late. I asked to speak to a manager, and they said one would call me back, but nobody ever did. In other words, they basically stole the rest of the money I had in my accounts from me.

      We have received this complaint and reviewed it thoroughly. The employee's prior employer has granted an exception to process this participant's run out claims past the allotted deadline which has passed. A representative from our offices will be reaching out to the participant to advise them how to submit their claims. Once claims are received by our offices, they will be processed as soon as possible.

      Clarity Benefits Solution is a COBRA provider. Over the past month I have tried contacting them on 3 separate occasions. Each time there is a 45 minute + wait time; sometimes they drop the call and make you call again.I just want to cancel my COBRA coverage. I followed their instructions but they refuse to process the cancellation request and continue to claim they haven't received it. I've tried email and an online portal. I even have confirmation from the online portal that a request was submitted. It's been over two weeks and still no response.I believe these delays are intentional and result in a scam. Clarity collects benefit payments in advance and forces you to cancel within a ********************************************* any months their coverage was not needed. These delays and policies allow them to delay issuing refunds to their customers, if at all.Please help me! Thank you for your time!

      I had hernia surgery in November of 2022. Clarity refused to cover the costs, demanding that I supply receipts for the charges. (I even included a letter from the surgeon)I did this twice, both by faxing them and uploading them to the website. Each time I got an automated response claiming that the "proof was insignificant". I tried to call twice and was kept on hold over 40 minutes each time. They then sent a letter demanding I pay them the money and threatening to report me to the **** This is completely unacceptable, this was a legitimate, required surgery and I provided all the necessary documentation.

      To whom it may concern,

      After further review of this member's account, I can see that receipts are not sufficient documentation under his HRA account setup administered for this employer. This member was contacted and advised that an Explanation of Benefits from the insurance carrier for that specific date of service is required to substantiate the expenses. He did advise he will provide this documentation in order for us to be able to move forward with this expense.

      I resigned from my company and requested to continue my Aetna health insurance through COBRA, which Clarity Benefit Solutions manages. Repeatedly I was unable to get into my Clarity portal in order to fill out my Cobra Continuation Election Form. Their website kept giving me error messages which I told Clarity about several times. *************************** from Clarity then emailed me a form and said she would file it and also include my banking information so I could pay the monthly premium on time. They did not provide me a way to send this PRIVATE information (banking, social security number, birthday, etc.) through a secure portal so I took a chance and scanned and emailed it to ******* at Clarity. The application and payment were supposed to be processed on 1.11.23. Since my health insurance was not reinstated I checked my bank to see if the funds were withdrawn and they were not since ******* took the liberty to sign me up for recurring payments which would not pull until **** (resulting in delay for my insurance). As of today, the funds have still not been pulled from my bank which leads me to believe that she mistakenly entered my banking information. I have emailed and called Clarity since then and have been put on hold or ignored. This is causing extreme anxiety as I have not been following up on medical care/bloodwork since I do not have insurance. I will need to also backtrack and resubmit claims to Aetna once I get my ID card.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However, no one should ever have to contact BBB in order to get a response and resolution from a business! I would NEVER recommend Clarity to anyone ever.
