In 2019 I paid for a used transmission provided by AAMCO and installed. I purchased a 2 yr extended warranty past the one year warranty it came with. I brought the vehicle back in for transmission service in October of 2023. I was told 3-4 weeks! Well 5 months later, Manchester **, and ******* ** said they would honor my warranty but didnt. When I picked my vehicle up the check engine light was on and I had to get it inspected as I just registered it in Jan ************************************* Feb 2024. Had to inspect it in ** went to ***** ** meineke. They informed me that I was missing a purge valve. There was a plastic piece that was shoved into a hole in the engine to prevent a code from coming up and there were other plugs and wires that were not connected and just dangling. They said it was a hack job. After replacing the missing part the purge valve they charge me $150. I paid $500 for the warranty. I want $650. They refuse to return my phone calls or emails. This is AAMCO corporate headquarters in ************. I am close to calling *************, Attorney General, and reporting them for fraud and deceptive practices. The *******, ************* store I spoke to. They agreed to check the work of the other AAMCO and Manchester in Milford. When they did, they discovered that it was completely done wrong. After another week I was finally returned my vehicle. This has been 5 1/2 months. The owner of the Manchester and ******* store whose name is **** is a complete fraud should not be in business and is currently doing the same thing to other customers. Look at his reviews on his website. I was forced to buy a new vehicle because he couldnt honor his oblige. He should not be in business. no one has answered my numerous calls or emails from corporate AAMCO. The ******* ************* store has just fixed my vehicle and I am picking it up tomorrow. But I want my $650 that I paid for the warranty and the five months without bhaving my vehicle paying insurance

Here are other complaints on ****** describing my situation but its gotten worse. My battery died within 4 days of receiving my vehicle back as a result of it sitting in their lot for 5 months without being started. This is gross negligence and **** and AAMCO have no concerns for their customers whatsoever. Its fraudulent and deceptive practices classic case. Check the ****** review for AAMCO transmissions in Manchester ** Gold st thanks

My husband brought his truck for a transmission that was covered by his warranty! They had his truck for over two months! They damaged the wiring harness and my husband paid them over $6000! He had to pay out of pocket to have it towed to his work since he still can’t drive it! And now he has to borrow money from his boss to get it fixed! They wouldn’t answer his repeated phone calls when they had it! This place should be shut down!

On April 5th,2023, I brought my car to Aamco at *** **** ****** ********** ** to have the rear main seal replaced. After 4 weeks (on May 3rd ) I got it back,. I was going away for that weekend, so left it at a park and ride, and when I returned Sunday there was a huge puddle under it, and realized there was still an issue. I brought it back May 8th.They admitted they had broken the transmission and were going to replace it at no cost to me. He said it will be a week to fix. The problem is they still have my car, 7 weeks later, and refuse to pay for a rental for me. I believe they are taking advantage of me, as I am an older single woman,
I have every text that has gone back and forth. My daughter has reached out to Aamco headquarters, they have tried to help, but to no avail. I believe he is working on other cars and letting mine sit there. The excuses he has told me are:
The tech is sick....The tech didn't show up...The tech is an idiot...The tech had to leave early....The tech was in a serious car accident...
Not only has this been a huge inconvenience being without my car (since April 5th) I have already paid him $2432.73. Could you please help me get my car back, and some compensation for the time I have gone without my vehicle. Thank you in advance.

I could not go any longer without a vehicle, so I took the car from Aamco on Friday July 7th. The car was not fixed, it was still leaking. I went from April 5th till July 7th with no car.  it cost me over $2000 and it never got fixed..Its very upsetting.

October 2022 we purchased a rebuilt transmission with 3 year warranty and had it installed at AAMCO in Manchester NH. We had the same vehicle towed back to AAMCO when the transmission stopped working February 15, 2023. We were told it would take 3 weeks to fix due to low staffing and low inventory on transmissions for Ford Escapes. I was also told they could not rebuild in their shop because they didn't have anyone who did that work. I called 2 weeks later to check the status and was informed that they were working on it, but it would be another 2 weeks. When I called the following week I was told it would be "the end of next week". This time he claimed they were rebuilding it themselves. The end of the following week I was leaving for a business trip and was told it would be ready that weekend, but when my daughter called to pick it up on Monday they said they needed an additional week. The following week our daughter followed up again with a call (its the car she drives to school and work) and she was told the following week it would be ready. I follow up again March 30th and he tells me they will have it ready the following Friday (the 7th) when I return from my business trip. I called AAMCO customer service who let me know that he informed them he would start work the following week on it. (this is the same day he told me it would be ready by Friday NOT next week) They also said there is nothing they are able to do to help me get my vehicle at this time.
After calling Friday 4.7.23 he says he has still been understaffed and will plan to have it ready the end of next week. I asked about a refund (we originally paid $7000 for the transmission from them with a 3 year warranty) so I could find a place that can fix it. He told me they will not provide refunds, they do not help with rental vehicles for the interim, and "he cannot let me take the vehicle anywhere else to be fixed" because of liability.

I am completely getting the run-around from the owner of this store. He won't call and give me updates, I keep having to call him. I had my car towed to the shop on 02-24-23. A week later I called and Dave the owner said that they were just getting to it. Then March 8th he called to give me an estimate, which I agreed to. I heard nothing until I called on the 17th. Dave then said the car would be ready the middle of the following week (the 22nd). When I called on the 22nd, I was told the end of the week. When I stopped in on Friday the 24th and I was told Monday the 27th. I called on Monday the 27th and was told it would be Tuesday the 28th. Then I got a call back saying there would be another $700 in parts (now up to over $4,500). I just called today and the car still isn't ready. The owner Dave was not there, I spoke to Jeff. He said that they just finished rebuilding the transmission and would start installing it tomorrow. When I said that was what I was told yesterday, Jeff said Dave will be in tomorrow, take it up with him and then hung up on me.

I have zero confidence that the work done will be quality based on the fact that I can not get a straight answer out of this shop. This is horrible, horrible service. Dave said over the course of the month he has had my car "I have been bad at communicating with you." That is the understatement of the century.

I don't know whether to believe that I will get the car back tomorrow or in another week or another month. At this point I fully expect the transmission to fail a week later and then what? Bring it back here again?

With this kind of service I do not know how this can be a successful location. I don't know what to do here. I have been more than patient, but this is just nuts. To be hung up on when I just want a straight answer is so insulting. I feel like I am being held hostage. I really am beside myself.

I called AAMCO and explained what was going on with my vehicle. The owner, Dave, said he could take care of it and to get it towed to him ASAP. The car was towed to his shop the same day I spoke to him on 2/10/23. There was zero communication from the shop, I had to initiate every phone call to try to get an update. After one week, I called again and he told me that he didn’t have my last name in his system, this was after I gave him all my contact information the week prior. He asked me what vehicle was mine and then all of a sudden remembered. But then asked me what was wrong with it? Very frustrated, I asked him if he’s even looked at my vehicle yet, he claims he did &was waiting on a part. He also told me that all of his staff had walked out the week prior so it’s just him and he has over 35 cars waiting. I’m not sure why he would have even told me to tow my car to his garage if he had so many cars waiting. I would call a few days a week for an update, finally to be told that it would be ready by mid next week. That turned to tomorrow, which turned into “it just needs a few more hours&will be ready tomorrow.” That day I texted him I’d be there around 330 to get my car, only to get a text saying “Its not ready”& “I really tried to have it ready for you.” So now we’re almost 4 weeks in, I call him for an update. He tells me that he’s waiting on a part.I asked him to call me by the end of the day, which he never did. I called him again today, he told me he doesn’t have any staff again. I told him I don’t like being lied to and I’ve caught him in multiple lies. He told me to have a good day and hung up on me. I told him I’d like to have my car towed somewhere else and he told me it’s on the lift and “in pieces.” I just want my vehicle back and stop being strung around. I have attached the text messages with the owner, Dave that shows how many times it was going to be “ready”.

Around August 20, 2022 my son's 2017 GMC Sierra truck was towed into AMmco in Manchester, NH. He was quoted $2,000 to $4,000 to repair. I subsequently paid $ 5,000 for the repairs. A few days later truck shows signs of problems. Back to AMmco where they have it for week. My son is told all fixed, picks it up and 2-3 days later shows signs of problems, again! Back to AAmco. As of this complaint they have had it for a week including over a holiday weekend and still have it with no communication on what the problem is, when it may be fixed or what they think the problem may be. So for an estimated 3 out of 4 weeks my son has had no transportation of his own. It has cost him money at work and this run around needs to stop.
