The company has moved to digital everything. I wasnt given a tour when I went to the gym. I wasnt helped through the process of joining. I was pointed at a QR code and told to sign up through the app. I love technology and that wasnt a huge issue. I wouldve liked a tour of the facility first but no big deal. Signed up. The gym is small and super crowded. Working out takes so long waiting for machines to open up. It became more of a hassle than anything. Tried to cancel the membership. Youd think it would be done through the app. But no, cancellation must be done in person? Or you must write a letter to the gym to state you want to cancel. Such a racket. If you can sign up without anyone caring to help you can cancel that way too. Just trying to squeeze more money out of people.Review from April L

I wish you could give negative stars! I have been fighting with the ******* location to cancel my membership for over 2 years now!!!! First time around they told me I was under contract and had to wait for the year to run out to cancel, fair enough we waited but still was getting charged. Called back in they told me in order to cancel I had to go back to my old city an close it at that location! Reminder I moved over a year ago now so that can't happen. So I called the location only to find out that they never put anything down on my account for calling in to cancel NOTHING!!! I asked what I had to do to cancel they said that there was an over due amount of $99 that if I didn't pay they were going to keep charging my account?. Like what kind of a scam is this? Now they want me to write a letter to them and send in all my bank records showing my account is charged every month, and pay that $99 or they will not close it. How in the world can they refuse to close an account? It is pass the contracted time, I moved, and I can't attend a location. I have never heard of such a Scam place before!!! To top it off **** was so condescending and rude, like your company is stealing my money and you have the nerve to tell me I'm in the wrong when I have done everything to try and cancel it the right way. Read the fine print. I am a 10 dollars a month member, see the actual charges from Planet Fitness vary from 10 one month then a double charge of 20 one time in Aug. then another for 25 in the same month!**there is an annual fee not stated in commercials or when you sign up (not 1 dollar)** You cannot cancel over the phone or online, you must come to the location you signed up at **I finally got the condescending front desk person have the manager, who was conveniently not there, to call me to get a resolution. ** they do not except responsibility for their billing errors and are very rude to when you ask why you are getting random charges on your cardReview from James M

Just dealt with the rudest staff member ever! I went to purchase a Muscle Milk just like I do every time I go. I walk up to the front desk scan my membership card, they ask me if I would like to use my debit card on file and I say yes and that's it. Today this guy named Cee *** refused to let me scan my card. Started asking me for all my information. I simply told him if you scan my membership card it will give you all my information. He looked at me and yelled to get out! I said I don't have to get out I am a member here. He yelled again to get the h*** out of his Gym. I asked to speak with the manager and he said he was the manager. I know that he is not the manager. They also refused to give me the real managers phone number. I was able to find his email but he as yet to respond.Review from Grier B

Its sad planet fitness discriminates against people with disabilities. The lack of respect that was showed yesterday, is the biggest reason why I cancelled my membership. In the world you will run into many different people who have things going on that you may or may not know. When I explained to her that he had dementia she didnt care at all, which when I said it, it was to inform her because she made a nasty look and looked around to her coworkers. As someone in charge to act that way and show the staff how to treat people and after Ive cancelled my membership to say you dont have to come here what kind of business runs this way? When did a worker start making statements that only an owner could say. We were a member for over a year, and thought that it was a decent place, but I was surely wrong. Well be going to a different gym that values are money and respects us as human beings. I think for future reference some training in respecting people with disabilities would be helpful.Review from Chad G

The cancelation process is horrible in 2024 it shouldn't be that way. Horrible business practice that's now how you keep customers. I will never go back ever again I'll support my local gyms not these big corporate money hungry gyms.Review from Tiffany T

I never signed up or even went to Planet Fitness in the last year and a half, yet they keep trying to charge my account. ********************** customer support said that they would personally make sure my account was cancelled because I was NOT going to whatever "home base" gym, SOMEBODY ELSE, signed me up for. My abuser signed me up for an ******************************** acknowledged that they have been trying to take my money without me ever signing up, that they would do the right thing, return my money & cancel the account. Just today though, they try to take over $100 from me yet again. Depending on how long this goes on for, I may be forced to take it to court because I am NOT canceling my bank account just to avoid **********************. Planet Fitness needs to stop purposely s******* customers over with this nonsense cancelling circus. This is going on far too long and I will not be spending more in court than what I recover and I WILL make sure everything, plus that, is recovered. This is a huge emotional toll & some of us suffer from medical conditions caused by stress. Planet Fitness WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. This is not just some basic complaint. Planet Fitness makes it super difficult to cancel your membership. You have to visit your home club in person. I had to relocate and had to drive an hour back to my old resident to complete a cancellation. Plenty is gym out there, so dont waste your time at a dying gym.Review from bellawice

Electronic transfers of funds are being redirected to bank accounts controlled by scammers. Planet Fitness and its members are at risk of financial loss and disruption of financial operations. *** billing is your partner. Payment through *** billing is at risk of being scammed. The alternative is use of a credit card (my repeated request). An immediate consideration of this important request to allow credit card payments for membership --is more than urgent. The Pensacola 9mile rd location plays tricks on people and then cancels memberships. I was clear in the other room when a Mexican woman was blabbing on a phone. It was annoying to me when I was working out. Phones arent allowed in the workout area. When I looked over at her she wide eyed me. I continued to work out before coming to annoyed. I said shut up to my feet but she didnt hear me and everyone else was just a bystander. I told the counter a full description of the Mexican woman(brown speaking Spanish) in the red shirt and on the phone. The workers never showed up. I then went back towards the counter and all of the sudden. The workers are on there way. Then they walked right by. I felt like a nobody so I went up to the counter and asked what happened? They lied! Said we didnt see anybody on the phone. Hello!. The one on the leg machine that I described across from the ab room. Things just got worse from there.. employees mumbling, not getting a manager, assistant manager lying and doing the same walk by as the other two employees This is why you dont pay kids to work because managers believe them and they lie up the chain of command. I dont have a membership anymore because of these bad workers. Anywhere on the planet!!! I am ****** off!!
