2 years ago we paid Meridian $900 in full for our septic design. Through out the pandemic we were unable to have our septic installed due to financial setbacks. Our time limit with the state of NH was about to expire and we were able to get a 2 month extension to get septic installed.we found a company to do our septic install they were able to get it down in a short order of time , the installation was very pricey but very happy with the company that did the septic install. However Meridian services was called back to do a "As -Built" a as built is a curtosy a company does when something changes on a drawing like house location due to things beyond your control while excavating because of ledge etc... There should be no charge for this service however Meridian is charging us $381.65 for a as built they were only there 30 minutes. The manager of the company that installed our septic system even told us there should be no charge for a company come back to do a As built. We think we were charged for the as built because of our tight time frame we had to get this septic system installed.. sincerely **** *****Business response

****,
We recently received your compliant below via the Better Business Bureau.
In short, an Amended (as-built) Septic Plan is a completely separate service and is not included as part of our initial septic design services.
It is not done as ‘courtesy’ as it requires both a return to the site for as-built measurements as well as data input & drafting to issue the Amended Septic Plan. It is much more involved than just 30 minutes on the site itself.
The manager of the company who installed the system was incorrect in stating “there should be no charge for a company come back to do a As built”.
I hope this explanation clears up any misconceptions you may have had.
Regards,
Ken
