Used Major Drain for a kitchen sink clog. Service was good; however, when I paid for the service, I was charged a higher sales tax rate. I live in Unincorporated Sarpy county and the rate is 5.5%; I was charged Douglas county rate of 7.5%. I was told that’s what their system uses. I checked with the Mayors hotline and they confirmed I should have been charged 5.5%, not 7.5% because I live outside the City of Omaha limits.

You originally made us aware of the situation by email. We responded to that email explaining that it was a software issue that had caused the problem. It looks like your response to that email was received on 3/8. However the person who handles that particular email account went on vacation on 3/6 and just returned today. So this just came across my desk at 9:30 this morning. A refund check of $2.70, the difference was cut at around 1pm and is in the outgoing mail pile. I would like to point out that we never received a call in regards to this issue. We received a call to book the appointment, but not a call in regards to any issues according to our records. I guess my point is that a simple phone call in this situation likely would have cleared up any feelings that Mr. Kamysz was feeling and likely would have saved him the time and effort that he has gone through to this point.

Sadly we used these guys 4 times never had a problem. Called them to snake pur kitchen sink. They put a hole in the pipe woth their electric snake flooded the upstairs flooded the basement and said they are not reliable for any of it. So now we have an unusable sink with a hole that needs fixed. I would not recommend this company

Original call was for a kitchen sink plugged. Tech arrived and did a quick diagnosis to verify as well as went downstairs to look for any alternative access or issues with visible pipes. No alternative access, no visible issues with the pipe. Tech cabled the kitchen sink line from under the sink. When the tech felt the water drop he went downstairs to check for issues, at that time he saw black water backing up from under an entertainment stand. This discoloration is characteristic of a loaded line and told us that the load shifted but did not clear. Tech went back up and continued cabling an additional 10'. Tech went back downstairs to find the black water subsiding. When he came back down he found the homeowner moving the entertainment stand and found that it was covering a hidden floor drain. Tech returned to upstairs to pull his cable back out of the line. He reconnected the waste line and ran water to test. He went back downstairs as part of the test to check for additional backups and leaks and discovered that the line was leaking from above the floor. Further inspection showed the tee in the wall had rotted out. Tech shut water off and explained the situation. Customer declined repair appointment and declined to pay stating that she would call the office. Customer called the office but I the owner was out of town and unavailable. Even had I have been in town I would have explained the same thing the technician explained. #1 we had no way of knowing that there was a floor drain hidden under the furniture. With the floor drain visible we likely could have put a plug in the floor drain preventing the backup if the load shifted. Regardless of that, the black water coming out of the drain was a product of the clog itself and not from any negligence on our part. #2 if drain cleaning companies had accept liability for the condition of rotted pipes hidden in walls, they would not clean drains and would rather require that the pipes be changed out making repairs far, far more expensive. It is clear in the photos that this leak is in a very old piece of pipe that shows signs of decay and I am positive that with further inspection by opening the wall that the evidence will support that. Drain cleaning equipment is designed in a way that it will not damage properly plumbed pipe that is in good condition during normal use. But a pipe in poor condition may have it's poor condition exposed during the process. This house was not left flooded. We have both before and after photos. Yes the floor drain backed up but it rescinded. And the water from the leak in the pipe was wiped up. No more water would leak unless the customer were to have continued to run water after we told them of the leak. So although we understand that these situations may be frustrating, that does not mean that wrong doing was done on our part. We cleaned that line using industry standard equipment and techniques. Had we have been negligent in ANY way, I would have offered to make it right but that was not the case here. You are left with a sink that is unusable because you declined to set up an appointment to have your old rotted pipe repaired.
