I am a tenant renting my home through this agency. They added mandatory participation in a monthly "healthy air" program when my lease renewed at the start of August. I am billed $20 at the first of the month for an air filter they state they "hand deliver" which I am then supposed to install for that month. I had not noticed this addition to my lease until I saw past due charges on my account and immediately paid them to remain in good standing. Of note: I had not received any air filters in August or the start of this month of September. I emailed Jill J***** at the office yesterday to state that I had not received the air filters and I would like to be refunded for August and September since September was nearly half over, it being the 14th. She stated she would refund me for August but that they would deliver the September air filter "soon", that delivery dates vary depending on weather. They did refund me for August. Today I emailed with Dianne P**** herself stating my confusion: if I am ostensibly being billed for "a month of clean air" then I should have the use of that filter for the whole month. As you will see in the attached email thread, she states that they make no promise to deliver the filters in a timely way, but I am nonetheless expected to pay for the whole month. They delivered one filter today, September 15th. It is a very low quality filter. The filters I prefer to use of much higher quality cost $7 a piece when I buy them in bulk. The entire compulsory program appears not to be genuinely about providing clean air to residents; but I digress, I realize that I signed the lease renewal and am now forced to comply. My ultimate wish would be to have this program taken out of my lease. In summation, I feel it is patently wrong to charge someone for a month of use and only provide 50% of that time. I am asking to be refunded the $20 for September and have a promise they will deliver the filters on time or waive the monthly fee.
