My vehicle was not running properly. Check engine light flashing. I reached rackleys to see if they could give an estimate on specifically replacing misfires in my pontiac vibe(4 cylinder) very common quote. When I reached Zack to see if they could look at the vehicle and quote me cost for repair, he never indicated beforehand that it would cost 120$ just to "look " at the vehicle. I requested he not charge the 120$ as this was not a disclosed /agreed upon expense. Zack denied to waive the fee and said " they can't work for free". He reluctantly took 15$ off total and charged me 104.76. I was merely seeking for them to quote expense but feel as though this was a hidden expense that should be discussed/disclosed BEFORE HAND, NOT AFTER.

I called Rackley's Performance Auto because my transmission went out on August 30. They picked the car up on 8/31/21 and repaired the transmission. I stopped by the shop on several occasions to explain that the car was unusual and offered low mileage transmission for free. David insisted he could fix and would guarantee for two years. No one called me between 8/30/21 and 9/24/21. However I called on several occasions to explain that an Allante expert had critical info about that transmission that needed to be known to the trans repairman, and the car wouldn't shift properly unless a kit was installed. I gave the shop the name and number of the expert who never got a call from Rackley. When I called them on 9/24/21, they told me it was ready and to come pick it up at a price of $3,047.76. When I picked it up, I felt it wasn't quite right, but I drove it home to Little River, SC where it started acting really badly. I called Rackley's to tell him of the trouble I was having and he sent a tow truck to pick it up car from Little River, SC. I again reiterated that they needed to call my expert in Florida for more info, but they never contacted him. Rackley never calls me. He has only called me once in two months. I called 11/5/21, Rackley said fixed, test driving over weekend. called 11/8/21, said still test driving, should be ready by 11/9/21. Still not ready, still test driving. I want my car back. Apparently they are unable to fix the car or they are using my car for other purposes.

      Business response

      07/08/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 23, 2021/12/28) */ ***Document Attached*** Customer had vehicle towed to shop with front seal melted out of the transmission. rackleys performance and auto removed the transmission for rebuilding services through aamco transmissions and after parts were recieved transmission was rebuilt with a year warranty as stated at the bottom of every invoice must be returned for warranty through rackleys performance and auto. The vehicle was driven for 3-4 days to ensure no issues customer recieved vehicle and had issues at 80 miles and stated vcc failure light on dashboard.A tow truck was dispatched immediately and Rackleys paid for a tow bill to correct issue upon inspection pcm tested bad replaced pcm customer paid for part only no labor at a price of 193.88.AAmco rebuilt the transmission for a second time and when driving found that the engine was causing vacuum to increase when accelerating which is not correct and is what caused the initial failure and a vacuum regulator was added to the car to try to correct the issue at no cost to customer through aamco and was driven for a few days and when rackleys received the vehicle back was driven for an additional 3 days to ensure no issues customer advised that the vehicle had issues with the engine and vacuum and it could possible cause issues again with the transmission due to it being controlled by vacuum and electronic. Customer said "i dont want you to drive it i want it back" released the vehicle to customer and reitterated to customer that he would probably need to take further action and have his local mechanic look into the issue of vacuum before causing any more issues. Transmission is covered under warranty for one year customer has to return vehicle to rackleys for covered services. Until vacuum issue with engine is resolved it will continue to tear up transmissions. Consumer Response /* (3000, 25, 2022/01/05) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Although I did say I wanted my car back, I also said I wanted it back FIXED. It is NOT FIXED. They did not call me after I said the transmission had the same failure that they changed the PCM for plus the transmission wasn't shifting properly and wasn't "locking up". I told this to a weorker who answered the phone. I don't know what was told to the owner. My car was with Rackley's for 6 weeks including the 3 days that I had it back after the first repair. I have spoken to an expert on this auto and have been told there is a "Allante Subkit" that needed to be added. For that, I received no response. I can only conclude they didn't install the kit. I would like to have someone else fix my car that is sill not in service. No one has contacted me to this date!
