1 starI was a member with Midwest outdoor resorts. The 4 resorts were for members only. Travel resorts of America bought them out. When we made reservations on one of the camping sites, we were told we had to sit down with a *** member to discuss the new company. During the discussion, we were told if we did not agree and buy into TRA, at an additional fee, our maintenance fees would go up substantially. There *** showed us an amortization table showing our maintenance fees would almost double every year. Tried to take a picture of it but they wouldnt let me. Was not offered a cancellation option. Either pay higher maintenance fees every year or buy into their business at over $7000 (cant remember the exact cost). The camp sites are now open to the public. Plus, one of them is now a ***. Am at ************* now. 2 years ago, we were here during hot weather in the 90s. Power went out for 2 days. Some left. We drove 4 1/2 hours to get here so we stayed. Having power issues again. Brought my generator this time and had to use it for a bit. The kind of fixed it but can only run ac with nothing else on as its above 90 again for next 2 days. One of the maintenance guys told me nothing was done to fix this issue since our last visit. Unacceptable! TRA isnt fixing issues but just bandaging things to keep it going. We got squeezed into this new contract. Anyone who was with Midwest outdoor resorts should have been offered a cancellation option. From what I read so far online, multiple class actions against TRA. Am researching to see if I can join one. Was not aware of TRA being a timeshare company. Taking with multiple folks camping here, not one happy campers.Travel Resorts of America

Dear *****,We would like to address your concerns as shared. 1. Travel Resorts is not a timeshare company and there are no class action suits. 2. Per our contracts, the maintenance fees can only be raised the actual cost increase to maintain the resort or the consumer price index whichever is higher. Historically, the consumer price index is what has been used. 3. As *** purchased the resorts in Jan 2022, the obligation to fulfill the membership benefits. 4. Due to member usage being down, it was decided to place part of the resort to *** so as to manage the cost of the resort and raise maintenance fees.5. Our records show, at the time of the acquisition, you still had an open load with Midwest Outdoor Resort which when you upgraded increasing your benefits, it was rolled into your TRA loan. 6. Thank you for sharing your concerns about ************ and the power outage. I will share that feedback with our resort manager.Hopefully, this helps to answer some of your questions. Should you have further questions, please reach out to us at [email protected],Travel Resorts of America.Review fromCraig R

1 starTROA is a scam. I was misinformed and mislead. Their membership is useless. Then they call me to tell me for ***** more they will upgrade my membership. This is why for the first 30 days u have to call them to make any reservations. So you are stuck with it. Stay away from this membershipTravel Resorts of America

Dear Mr. ************ would like to clarify some of your statements in that Travel Resorts. During that first 30 days, it takes time to do the setup of your membership, maintenance fee, and loan accounts. Additionally, we are sending in paperwork for your affiliate membership accounts to be setup, so it is accessible online for you to make reservations. We also schedule a new member Welcome call where we do an additional confirmation and training on how you make reservations on-line. If for some reason, the first reservation you are making may not have everything set up, our member service team will do what they can to make that reservation for you. Is there something we may assist you with in your vacation planning? Please reach out to us at ************************************************************Craig R

1 starJoined, paid off the membership. We dont use it so I have been trying for 2 MONTHS to cancel the membership. Apparently they only have 1 person in the entire company that can "assist you" in the cancellation process. That person does not work much apparently, and DOES NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS. Finally got ahold of someone that didnt want to take a message but actually put me on a schedule Sunday, but my wife could not make that. Called the number the confirmation email gave me, but of course that person did not deal with cancellations so back to square one. They tell me i have to speak to someone for about an answer to hear my cancellation options.Since starting this process, they have sent a maintenance fees bill. SO here is my cancellation options.... I AM CANCELLING MY MEMBERSHIP, YOU HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED IN WRITING INITIALLY, AND THROUGH MANY PHONE CALLS AND MESSAGES. I AM NOT PAYING ANYMORE MONEY AS A RESULT OF YOUR FAILURE TO BE RESPONSIVE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. THERE ARE NO OTHER OPTIONS THAT I NEED TO SPEND AN HOUR ON THE PHONE DISCUSSING *** *******Travel Resorts of America

Dear *******,I apologize for the delay in our teams getting back to you. Upon research, I do see that you reached out to Travel Resorts of America (TRA) through the on-line chat requesting to cancel on March 4, 2025, and our on-line coordinator provided you our ************** phone number. I do show you called in but hung up before leaving a message. Normally, our on-line agent would also email your call information to our ************** Supervisor team which was a step missed. I have spoken to his manager to do a refresher training on so this does not happen again. Our records show you called back on April 21, 2025, and spoke with one of our member service agents. It looks like there was phone calls going back and forth until the beginning of this month to schedule an exit options presentation. Would you like us to assist with finding a better day than the 16th as both you and your wife will need to attend the presentation? I have asked our team reach out to you. Again, sorry that it took us as long to get you to the correct department.Sincerely,Travel Resorts of AmericaP. c.

1 starWe joined this campground membership about 3 years ago to increase our options when **ing extensively as retirees. We used it a few times over the first 2 years but not even once last season due to a major health issue that surfaced. I had to be Life-Flighted to a specialty hospital where I spent the first 7 days in ************** followed by another 8 days in Cardiac Care.I have not been permitted to drive since then and had to sell both my ** and RAM 3500 truck to cover the first of nearly $250,000 in medical bills received so far. So, obviously, the ** lifestyle is history for us.But we continue to receive monthly bills from Travel Resorts of America even though we notified them of our situation and attempted to cancel the membership. Their management states that, even though we can no longer use their facilities, there is no way around our obligation to pay their membership loan with an outstanding balance of over $11,000.We post this review as a warning to others who might be considering membership in Travel Resorts of America and our personal recommendation that you pass on their presentations.Travel Resorts of America

1 starOnly giving it a 1 since I can't put -1 on here. ************** in ************** is dirty, boring and in one hour you have seen every thing they have to offer. ******* store has a 200 percent markup. Spots are so cramped I can hear conversations in other campers.I bought a foreclosed membership and paid in full with maintenance fees. I stayed there twice. Work then moved me across the country. I'm over ***** miles from **************. I tried to give it to a friend who would use it. Travel resorts of america wanted another 1000 dollars in fees. I told them I didn't need it. That was 6 months before dues were due. They still sent me next year's bills and by the time mail got to me it was 3 days overdue. I tried to cancel again and they refused to cancel it without paying another ********************* they made alot of money when I bought it. This company only cares about stealing your money. Do not do business with them.Travel Resorts of America

1 starIn 2022 my wife and I stayed at **************** with our new-to-us RV. We ended up in a sales presentation where we were pressured into membership plans that we weren't sure about. The sales people sold us a 3-year trial membership with access to the online features which included condos, cruises, and air fare. We were happy trying this out for 3 years to see if we were "camping people." In November, 2022 we wanted to look into some travel to **, so we opened the website and found that none of the promised features were available to us. I emailed customer support, and on November 30, ********************************************************** I couldn't explore those promised features without upgrading my trial to a higher tier. I explained to him that I might be interested, but I was at work and couldn't pursue at that time. The high-pressure sales kicked in, and I ended up with an upgraded plan which allowed me access to the features which I was originally promised. We tried out the "deals" on hotels and travel, and found that they are still more expensive than competitors such as Priceline. In the original sales demonstration we were told there was a price guarantee, but I have since been unable to find any other evidence that was ever true. Now, we realize we are not "camping" people. We will never save money by using the travel options on their site. My wife recently lost her job, and we want out of our contract. Travel Resorts and their horrible ethics have pointed at the signed contract to refuse us, and deflect whenever we ask about the original deception which got us into this boat by not providing that which was originally promised to us. Travel Resorts of America is a time share with legal technicalities to avoid consumer protection laws which apply to time shares. They don't care about their customers, only the money. Now they won't even respond to my lawyers! This is a total scam.Travel Resorts of America

Dear ***** Mrs. ******** explained in our correspondence, your membership does include:1. Travel Services - rental discounts through Coast to Coast and their travel service program and Hopaway. Additionally, through your upgrade, your new membership went from a 5-year trial to ************* which has a Tier 2 Ask ****** affiliated membership. Your Tier 2 membership has access to discount hotel, condo, cruise, rental cars, flights, etc.2. Cabins/Rentals cabin fever clubs allow for cabins/rental unit usage at Travel Resorts of America (TRA). Cabin/Rental units are also available through your Coast to Coast membership.3. Timeshare TRA is not a timeshare company. *** sells private campground usage memberships.4. Attorney Response - we have corresponded with your attorney. 1 starI signed up for Travel Resorts and shortly after i was diagnosed with 2 types of cancer, both requiring radiation and/or chemotherapy. I have not been able to utilize my membership and I am now looking at a liver transplant qnd have numerous appointments trying to get listed and become eligible for a transplant. Regardless of this I still have to pay maintenance fees and they will not let me out of my contract unless i upgrade my membership for $5,000 to ****** which makes absolutely no sense to me when i probably never use with my cancer and related issues. Very, very disappointed in my dealings with them. I highly recommend that you dont buy into their business, its qll qbout the money and not for the members.Travel Resorts of America

My membership is paid in full. I haven't used it in over 4yrs. They say until my maintenance fee is up to date they won't cancel my membership or even take it back. They don't call you back or anything. They refuse to help me til I pay them $139.00. They are a complete scam. I don't want it anymore and they won't cancel my membership even though it's paid in full. I am at my whits end with them. How do I just cancel it?Travel Resorts of America

1 starWent to their location that the $20 got us after going to a travel trailer expo. Once we were set up on Friday and went on tour on Saturday, they gave us their spiel about what the cost would be which was over $9000 almost $10,000 +799 for maintenance fee every year and you had to sign a 30 year contract. My husband and I are 70 years old. Were not about to sign a 30 year contract and there was no way to get out of it. I dont think theyre very reputable or beware you dont wanna deal with themTravel Resorts of America

Thank you giving us the opportunity to tell you about our membership and to see if it was a good fit for your family.Review fromNancy L
