About This Business
Arts Access North Carolina is a non-profit dedicated to creating a positive impact at the intersection of arts, education and disability. Our vision is to have communities in which the arts are universally accessible.
We provide training and resources to cultural organizations to expand their accessibility programming for people with disabilities. Arts Access NC offers audio description services for arts programs accommodate people with low or no vision.
The Arts Access Gallery in downtown Raleigh presents 5 exhibitions a year showcasing the work of disabled arts. Our Artist Link Project has over 120 artists in North Carolina listed. We support the artists with professional development opportunities and connections to other arts organizations.
Our Arts Integration programs are in school residencies for students in Special Education programs. The residencies include professional development support for educators on incorporating the arts into their classroom curriculum.
Products and Services
A statewide website to share information or locate resources related to arts and disability. Workshops, technical assistance, and consultations on how to develop ADA accessibility plans for programs and facilities.
Disability awareness training for arts organizations.
